I just imagines Goblin Slayer in Danmachi.
Skill: Gainbonus on killing goblins that increases as his level raises.
HyperUnity chapter 11 . 7/23
While i do enjoy this story I have to say, the title's misleading. With the cover and Title you make it seem like Bell did transform into the Soul of Cinder and wants to live in seclusion (maybe in the dungeon) but when reading the story he is, while not very social, he still communicates with people and doesn't give off the effect of "leave me alone". I do very much enjoy the story but it's that minor thing that just bugged me.
Guest chapter 11 . 7/20
Gotta say really liking the story so far and i wanna thank you because your fanfic actually got me interested in the Danmachi series. Loved Dark Souls and I like what i am reading so far. That said, I do hope there is more of the Dark souls side soon when Bell meets up with Chester. Really hoping for more soon and don't let pessimists get you down. Write in a way you are comfortable with and don't stress yourself over how your write your story. Good luck to you and hoping to read the next chapter soon.

You know, I have got no clue, why your fiction is so popular, like I honestly don't know. To me, it's sounds like typical 'fixing the protagonist' fiction, which are plentiful in many other fandoms.

Want a proof? Search for Highschool DxD fanfiction or crossover. Plenty of stories with: 'smarter, stronger, better, harem Issei!'. I can see the appeal of someone like the Ashen One or the Chosen Undead ending up in the Danmachi verse, since it would be interesting to read about someone like this as they try to figure out what to do with their lives from now on.

However, all you did was give Bell his powers and did it so in the flashback. Sure, we have got more brooding, darker Bell, but at the end of the day, it's still Bell and I bet that he will do the exact same thing as he did in the canon. His 'purity' and such will come forth in the end and save the day, befriend Xenos and such.

I could be wrong, definitely, but honestly, I see no reason to read it. I tried giving your fiction a try, but honestly, it was just dull. Meeing Sif descendant, making it so that Dark Souls verse is actually older than the one in Damachi? It doesn't sound appealing. It's not Ashen One or Chosen Undead trying to figure out what to do, it's just Bell with their powers.

Sorry, but not interested. Bell is enough of garbage protagonist as he is right now, giving him more powers and some 'dark' background doesn't change the fact that he sucks as a character.
Zerak chapter 6 . 7/17
Honestly the story has been interesting, as you have incorporated the two worlds together well. From what little you have shown, it seems that dark souls was in the Ancient past of DanMachi. And some people that died in the dungeon seem to have woken up in the undead asylum.

But sadly this story is following too closely to the DanMachi canon timeline. Even though the outcome themselves have changed, the people being introduced and the major events are still the same. And I find myself skipping or skimming sections of the story because of this similarity. So I am out. But I have enjoyed reading it so far.
Zerak chapter 2 . 7/16
I really hope this doesn’t follow the canon timeline.

As he doesn’t need a supporter, and it would restrict him. Also he doesn’t need armour so no curozo.

He is too strong to run away from Ishtar and can probably cleave otar so Freya can’t toy with him.

You would need to come up with your own plot line.

Loved it. Not bad for a cliffhanger. Curious as to when you will release the next chapter; I’m very intrigued to see what happens next.
webzayne717 chapter 6 . 7/12
... This story is trying too hard to be like Goblin Slayer. The atmosphere that the protagonist from Dark Souls should or would be expected to carry, doesn't really exist. The personality of Bell also doesn't really exist. The MC just reads like a Goblin Slayer Expy, which isn't surprising considering the author said he was drawing from that series. But, it just feels OOC in the worst of ways. The characterization in the earlier chapters was really good, but I guess the idea got corrupted by outside influence or something similar. TLDR; this doesn't read like a Danmachi&DarkSouls crossover as of this point.
webzayne717 chapter 4 . 7/12
Every soul he collects, everytime he uses it to strengthen himself; he's slowly assembling the Dark Soul. If he is the chosen undead, if he has the Soul of Cinder, then in actuality he has two Lord Souls in his being, at the very least. So... he is actually a God, or well, the Dark Souls equivalent of a God that's why he is chosen, that's why he can 'link' the fire.
webzayne717 chapter 3 . 7/12
Under what assumptions is it to be believed that the wolf is actually a monster? Evidence to the contrary is easily noted under the fact that it's being attacked by it's supposed allies... That line of thinking just doesn't really make sense.
webzayne717 chapter 3 . 7/12
Honestly, if he spent nearly the amount of time as you've hyped it up to be, I don't know why he doesn't have more development abilities. Also, beyond the mechanics of the game, I don't see why the Chosen Undead wouldn't learn how to smith from Andre in his spare time. It's just the little nuances where you flesh out those instances, for example, you're limited to a certain amount of spells in the game, but in the lore and from a realistic perspective, there are probably more spells that exist than what could be learned in a hollows life expectancy. It's this weird phenomenon where people decide not to flesh out the character beyond what's shown in the games, there's so much crazy shit that just isn't mentioned or takes a back seat to the thing limited to game mechanics. For example, Catalysts, Talismans, Chimes, and so forth; what can be used in Danmachi, and why wouldn't the MC know how to make them? The character beyond the store, is taught all the nuances of the arts from great teachers, and from massive tomes; do you think in a realistic setting, the main character wouldn't learn how to replace his broken equipment? I could go on, but my main gripe just revolves around how the setting still revolves around limited game mechanics that don't exist or shouldn't limit actions.
