I'd love them to take a family trip to Dragon's Edge and then Hiccup and Astrid can share stories from their time their.

Their adventure to share the past with their children has all four relaxing into their 'natural state' as parents and children. In Zephyr and Nuffink there can be seen mixtures of Astrid and Hiccup, blending into who they will become as they grow up.

Hiccup's 'pilgrimage' to where his and Astrid's lives, and the region's, changed forever, gave them all a time for the elders to fondly sit and remember where it all started for them all, while the youngsters were free to display their inner selves and be themselves.

Another day at an end in old Berk, I'm sure the night's not over for Hiccup and Astrid, after they put their kids to bed...

P.S. Whenever I read a fic like this about abandoned Berk, I keep feeling Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom vibes. Might be the whole ruin and reclaimed-by-nature thing.

I envisioned Old Berk in its ruined, abandoned state myself, only my version is about a century later. Everything is all worn down and I added some aspects from Rise of Berk, and the Riders' present day descendants discover it, along with a secret organization dedicated to protecting the Riders' memory and the dragons' existence.

The Outcasts, Berserkers, Defenders of the Wing, Wingmaidens, and other allies of Berk visiting New Berk.

The daily lives of the dragons in the Hidden World.

The daily lives of the Hairy Hooligan tribe on New Berk.

Someone challenging Hiccup and the gang for New Berk's resources, Hooligan tribe included before getting their ass handed to them.

Nuffink asking Zephyr where babies come from.

Slave traders kidnap Nuffink and Hiccup and Astrid see red.

Zephyr learning about her father's history.

Adult Zephyr and Nuffink visiting their now-elderly parents with their kids.

I do wonder if one day a new tribe will inhabit Old Berk? Presumably after the age of Vikings and dragons has gone, the people of the 1980s will find the island, demolish the old huts and buildings to make room, and set up shop. Or the Berkians will find a way to sink their home island to prevent enemies from discovering their history and secrets and using it to their advantage?

This was so wholesome! I loved it so much! It’s really great how you explored the face that the kids made it easier for Hiccup and Astrid to be happy. They’re an extremely adorable, very happy family and I love them. I can’t wait for the next chapter!
