I just had a thought. What is the main characters name, and are his parents the Schnee's, or just a random couple. The Schnee's are the only canon couple i can think of that would have the reaction his parents did. It would also explain the mother Schnee's drinking problem and depression. There might be others but i stopped watching rwby after pyrrha died.

That tail should have been removed with some corrective surgery. It is a mutation and nothing more. If kept it would do nothing but get in the way and hamper OC's abilities. The baseline human is superior to all others because we are evolved to perfection. Our shared equality in ability is not a weakness but a strength. Whereas all Faunus are different to a point in which they will never become a cohesive society. A Castes System would emerge for them in which those born with specific traits would be pressured toward a certain path. To be born Faunus is to be born a slave. I'd rather cut my own mutation off then live with it in the world of Remnant. Better to be Human than a Faunus.
