Aw, this is so sad. If there's somethinng that breaks my heart more than anything it is that a parent dies before the child gets to know them, or even knows they're having one. As with Keith and Karen and Lily. And this too is so sad and I just kept waiting for Jamie to turn up and then realized he wasn't there. I loved the AU- parts, and everything really. I need more of this. Maybe one with a daughter (Natalie?) based of the song daddy's little girl by Frankie J?

Anyway. Awwwwwww. Karen and Keith were just the cutest couple, it's so sad they were so close to get their happily ever after. I loved every detail in this, the small gifts, the dinner that... didn't actually succeed, the car. Great piece. Can't wait to read more.
