I love this! Sad, and poignant, but just what Hiccup needed for sure.

I found myself wondering how Hiccup would have immediately addressed his gathered village after the dragons all flew off in the movie.
But, I much like this idea better. Of the villagers all just watching the sky in silence and then leaving the cliffside in their own time. And I loved that Fishlegs told Hiccup that he "had the night off." That little detail was so sweet and kind and very in character. It was a small moment, but a very good one. And I doubly love that Astrid would stay with Hiccup all night like that, too. She being his support in a time when they both sorely needed it, but Hiccup more especially.

This was all just so fantastic and you packed so much detail and heart into a little drabble! Loved it! Kudos!

Heartbreak, from the exodus to save their species from extinction or misuse, those who feel as if they lost a part of their heart or soul wake to new days in a new home.

Without their dragon companions.

All took their moments in the company of others, or alone and the next day dawns for New Berk to find their Chief and Future Cheiftess consoling each other as only they can. And always will...

That wedding can't come soon enough for those two. They are married in every way but for the event itself.
