Actually, I'm pretty sure everything that eats poops...maybe very small animals don't poop noticeably though. I don't know where you got that butterflies aren't insects, they most certainly are. Three sections to the body, six legs, wings. There are other qualifications that I don't remember off the top of my head, but butterflies are definitely insects.
