I already was senselessly in love with how you write Lan WangJi, but then this came along and it's like you capture the entirety of Mo Dao Zu Shi, the whole emotional rollercoaster torture rack, in just this short story. And when you condese something it comes out in higher concentration, and right now I'm positively crying from experiencing all of that in such a short time. TvT Theirs really is the ultimate love story. You're quite daring, to take WangXian and pen an origin for it, but MY GODS you do it well! I envy your way with words, finding the right ones and expressing so much with so few. Your description of how the song evolves is nothing but gorgeous and WangJi's use of it - the cave, the thirteen years of waiting - is like multiple stab wounds to the chest. x'D "When he inevitably hears nothing, his fingers brush the strings of his guqin, pleading out to Wei WuXian in a way that is singularly theirs." And then Dafan Mountain. And I'm crying again. I mean, we're not given the full impact of that at Dafan Mountain in the novel. But when you bring the two ends of the string together like this? I'm ruined for the rest of the day, sir/ma'am. I'm ruined and grateful for it. Thanks again for a searingly beautiful story!
