That certainly was a close one for Amy as she almost ruined her best-kept secret. Still, she manages to play it off well, or at least count on Sonic still recovering so that he couldn’t put too much thought into it. This chapter had one of the most interesting endings. I’m not sure what exactly it means, and without the next chapter, that’s hard to tell. But, it definitely leaves an air of mystery.

It seems that this incident has given Amy some ability to read minds, and she definitely is finding a way to take advantage of it. She’s definitely smarter than she looks, and she’s figured out how to keep it secret and use it to manipulate Sonic pretty quickly. Still, her delusions keep her from making fully rational decisions. So, not everything goes as planned. Interesting concept!

I think one of the benefits of seeing things from Amy’s perspective is that we see how not crazy she thinks she is. If one were reading this without prior knowledge of your other work, you would see a caring girlfriend, or hopeful girlfriend, who cherishes the one she loves and would do anything to protect Sonic. However, it’s the little things Tails says that remind us of who she is as a person and puts it back into perspective. I just wonder how that’s going to affect things going forward.

Interesting choice to go with the villain’s perspective before going into the viewpoint of your titular character. Still, I like the approach. It’s always interesting to see how a villain sees their own nemeses through their own eyes. It was nice to get the perspective on what he perceived to be the heroes’ greatest weaknesses and how best to execute a plan to deal with it, even if that plan ultimately did fail. Still, given the summary, I think there are some interesting things to come with Amy in possession of a Chaos Emerald.

At first I thought it was a bit mean-spirited towards Amy to depict her as this crazy, but the humor of it grew on me. Definitely got me wondering and invested in the story too.
