Sam’s uncertain feelings about his father returning are also great.

The apology was well handled too.

The dare where Abigail ate the rock and their reactions to the reactions made me smile.

Caroline recounting her own youth was pretty great as a motivation for her subsequent prying. I really liked the detail of how she met Pierre.

The brunch quickly becomes fittingly awkward when Caroline’s roundabout asking whether the pair were gay met Jodi’s uneasy homophobia, though not without its moments of levity. Caroline stifled her laugh when hearing about Sebastian’s antics regarding his piercings, but I didn’t.

Alex trying to ask Abigail about his sexual identity was great and I liked her answers, as well as her desire not to overload him. The details about painting toenails was really cute.
