Axccel chapter 7 . 7/24 How do the Hellguns do nothing during that charge? That makes no sense, even Astartes are wary of Hellguns as they are with Hotshots because both can penetrate their armor. If bolts work on Grimm, Hellguns will work on Grimm like a buzzsaw mowing them down by the truck load. Big trucks. Like those dump trucks bigger than some buildings used in quarries. That big. Per Hellgun. |
Axccel chapter 8 . 7/24 A Commissar would know their powers are not psychic. There are many clear signs of what is and is not psyker power. Heck, when those signs are missing but people have powers, they are considered living saints specifically because their power is clearly not from the Warp (or seems to not be, at least). Seeing the abilities of Team CFVY yet noticing the lack of Warp evidence (which include an intense feeling of wrongness, revulsion, perhaps nausea, and definitely cold, frost, and ice and you can quite literally feel the power in your soul because duh, Warp) would have caused all the Imperials, especially the Commissar and Astartes to view them as some sort of saints (though not treated outright as such as they were not canonized). Especially when explained their power is the light of their souls. What holier power than that of the Emperor himself could there be to an Imperial? And uncontrolled psykers would be considered a critical threat above pretty much anything else. Finding out whether or not they were psykers would have been paramount. If CFVY was told why (in a far better way than "can lose control of their powers) they needed to be detained and tested and still refused, then at least have them argue that they don't have a reason to trust that the Imperials aren't lying to try and imprison them for some other reason. Being hit by a Boarbatusk spinning would not send you flying. It would run over you and its spines would drag you under it. Why would the Astartes's power packs have steam coming from them? They're atomic power generators kept energized by external radiation (and a battery supply should the pack fail or become disconnected). Perhaps heat dissipation evaporating moisture in the air? |
Alphasdragon chapter 8 . 7/24 This was an incredible chapter, the arrival of the Astartes and the final battle was somewhat grotesque beats the previous chapter, I must say that among the active crossings of Rwby and Warhammer this is one of the best, I am excited for how the contact between the remnant governments and imperium culture, keep it up |
FakeName123 chapter 2 . 7/23 Why are all the soldiers such blubbery messes? This would be an embarrassing reaction for modern soldiers, but it defies belief for an officer in 40k to be all 'Oh please, Let me be wrong' over a few hundred dead civilians. |
Acerze chapter 8 . 7/15 These meaty chapters of yours always make me happy. We're through the introduction it looks like, I'm looking forward to seeing a more thorough introduction between the two worlds! |
b.alesi chapter 8 . 7/10 my god, i'd have preferred the Lamenters in this, but the Steeldrakes aren't a bad choice here either nice story so far, i await more chapters with great anticipation, i like it |
RevolutionIsRetribution chapter 8 . 7/9 This is an amazingly and beautifully written piece of literary artwork, please continue this magnificent story. I've found many RWBY and Warhammer 40K crossover's but never this well written or coherent. The way you had the the Grimm have a gestalt strength the larger the horde is an amazingly brilliant way of power scaling them to be able to get close to what the Cadian Shock troops are used to. Please don't let this story die it would be a massive disappointment and just break my heart to see it stop so early. |
Earthling173 chapter 8 . 7/8 The Emperor protects! His Angel's wrath arrives on swift wings, and their fury a song of destruction and righteous death! Again what an amazing chapter, and again way to make me feel emotions for a secondary character I barely knew. At this time this is the final chapter you have written, which fills sadness as I really want to read more. Although unlikely to actually present a huge problem to Imperial forces you have a talent for making rank and file generic monsters actually threatening in your story, which is pretty cool. Again I'd rather prefer another chapter like the Lamenters or Imperial Fists, but for a chapter I know nothing of I do enjoy the characters you've written. And although I love Cadia, I'm a Kriegsman at heart and it still tears at me knowing I won't be able to see my favorite siege breakers. All in all, I love this fic, probably in my top three. Before I forget I immensely enjoy that you focus on more facial relationships than romantic or, Emperor forbid, sexual. It's a nice change of pace to see an author focus more on the story than relationships. With all that said, I eagerly await the new chapter with anticipation. Earthling 173 signing off. |
Earthling173 chapter 7 . 7/8 AMAZING! Good old fashioned Imperial justice served fresh from Cadia itself! Again amazing story telling, plot, and character depth and development, and once more the only complaints I have is simply my own personal opinion. I realize that while this Imperial force in remnant is vast comparatively to the world, I realize just how small of a fraction it is to the Imperium. Nonetheless, it would have been a perfect moment for an Inquisitor to cause conflict by denying the death of the beast and instead taking it away for study, but again that's just a fun thing I would have liked to see. Also I love long chapters so don't feel bad if you feel like it drags on, as long as it's not something that wasn't exceptionally dragging on it's not a problem. |
ZeroTwo80th chapter 8 . 7/8 Oh my god. This was SOOO GOOOD! I need MORE! |
Earthling173 chapter 6 . 7/8 Amazing chapter! Especially for the story you are creating, everything blends so well together, and kinda like 40k, if everything's OP, nothing is. I do miss the kinda cookie cutter lines Astartes are known for but still I love this chapter! |
Earthling173 chapter 5 . 7/8 Pooh I usually don't like omakes but the fact that Tzneetch or however you say it changed a potential fate is very in character and interesting! |
Earthling173 chapter 4 . 7/8 YES, FINALLY SOME EMPEROR'S WRATH MADE MANIFEST! Sorry but this was the moment I was searching for, and the fact you made me actually smile speaks volumes of your skill. To sympathize with those on the brink of destruction is one thing, to share in the righteous fury of holy warriors who are faced against filthy abominations that dare attack your charge is another! Can't wait to see the elite forces in action. Although unrelated I do wish I could see some Kriegsman in action, although for the story your writing it's probably best they stay far away from this planet haha! |
Earthling173 chapter 3 . 7/8 Hi I screwed up my last review and there's a 1 per chapter limit so I'll put the last one after this one. I have surprisingly little criticism to offer beyond my own desire to hurry up with the reveal of the perpetrators to the Imperium, but everything else is amazing. I love the respect shown to the dead, and the divide already sown between the commisar and the priest, as well as the juxtaposition between happy and sad the guardsmen go through from finding a survivor, to realizing her family is dead, to steeling themselves to protect others once more. I'd personally enjoy if Carmen becomes something of a percieved holy sign or good luck charm to the guardsmen, similar to a banner representing everything they work hard to serve and protect, and as all guardsmen do, die for, hehehe! Sorry I'm a sucker for those kinds of tropes. Overall, amazing chapter! Little iffy on the ending but forgivable from the rest of the chapter. Now for chapter 2s review! Sorry I miss clicked and accidentally posted my review too early, anyway I'm cautious of how you will blend the RWBY characters with the Geimm Darkness of the Imperium. I've seen all too often authors drop the famous cynicism and morbidity of Guardsmen or Astartes in favor of making their own RWBY OC but Warhammer, which isn't specifically a problem unless they are trying to create an accurate story like your are, beyond one side being op and curbstomping everything or suddenly finding emotions and the power of friendship. Nonetheless so far you have done a marvelous job on the Warhammer front, and although I don't particularly like the RWBY cast I can tell they are in character as you out write them. My one complaint so far would be the reactions most of the Guardsmen have to the death and destruction they find. While yes any human would mostly feel empathy and sadness for loss of life, even so young and hurt brutally taken as you described, these are Cadian shocktroopers. They held the line against the Eye Of Terror itself, fought against Abaddon the Despoiler and his heretic hordes for as long as they could, and did not balk or flinch. To be able to stare into what drives other men mad and stay steady but not the sight they're used too on a daily basis of eviscerated corpses and destroyed property? It doesn't sit well with me, although I can excuse most of it for the fact that these were non soldiers and the sight combined with the smell that for once wasn't covered by gunpowder or smoke. It just doesn't feel like so many shocktroopers would have such visceral reactions as soldiers who die in the millions in the Emperor's name. That's just my opinion however, great job otherwise. |
Earthling173 chapter 2 . 7/8 Not gonna like, I'm cautious of how you will blend the lighthearted RWBY characters and the Grim Darkness of the Inoerium |
