Ooh, I very much like this premise and the world you setup. It would be awesome to see it develop - someday... Kara is great. Sounds like she’s a much needed breath of fresh air.

Very well written. Kara is such a strong, believable female character. But certainly no Mary Sue. Every once in a while I feel a real sense of loss when such a great story is so short and I wonder at what might have been. Thanks so much.

I really like Kara. The magicals i.e Molly come across as condescending, I wanted to smack them.

Ohmygosh this is simply EXCELLENT! I've never read anything like this before. Seriously, this is freaking creative and I love this story so much.

I'm so upset and horrified that Barry died—it was so unexpected. I don't know how you did it but you made me almost cry for characters I've never read about in just 2.5k words.

During the whole thing, I was completely absorbed in your story and I was holding my breath till the very end. And the ending was nice and hopeful too.

I've seen a few of these 'harry is abused and saved' but this is probably the greatest. It really hit the emotions, unlike the others.

This is a wonderful one shot story. Wish it was longer.

This is amazing! I have never read an AU that I love so much! Kara is brilliant and you made me fall in love with her in less than 3000 words so well done for that! I was not expecting Vernon to show up and the action scene there was great as was Kara's thought process after, she could have made him pay but she proved to be the better person. I'm sorry Barry died, before he did I was imagining the story would end with him and Kara raising Harry together, but the plot twist made the story better, and I really liked the ending, Kara being a great mum and being completely exasperated by all the trouble that always seems to find Harry!

When I first started reading this story, I was overwhelmed by its originality. We are introduced to two young police officers, a couple in fact, and a very likable duo too. They are well characterised, and you find that you really care about what happens to these characters, I was very quickly invested in their story. When the police car arrived in Privet Drive, I knew we exactly where we were going, and I had an inkling where the story went.

What followed was both heartwarming and tragic. Kara, the young female officer is fierceless as is Barry, her partner. Together they are called to Privet Drive and events unfold, events that dramatically change the life of one of our most beloved characters. I have often read stories where Harry is rescued, but none quite like this. There are moments that have a tinge of darkness, and yet it's understandable, and importantly within rating.

The ending is in no way bitter, we are left with hope and happiness, seeing the life that our favourite hero could had. I do not know of a Harry Potter fan that would not love this story. It is so worth a Read and Review, and I was eager to recommend this as an overall Judges Pick, because it was unbelievably creative!
