I really like this story, mostly because Hiccup and Astrid's relationship is beautiful (I especially liked the part where Hiccup was willing to give up a year's worth of pay just to make Astrid feel better). However, I'm not sure if the story is dead, or if there are plans to continue. I really hope it's the latter.

I think you did a great job in both chapters, both in story and actual writing. But I would also like Astrids Point of view, though maybe that kinda ruins the whole "Hiccup doesnt know how to socially interact" storyline. But maybe as a short extra chapter(s) for the people who would like to read it? Anyway, good job, keep up the good work, and success with you study!

This is well written and has an interesting take on Berk, as more of a large settlement than a small village, which is actually consistent with the movies now I think of it(about 50 ships set sail to attack the dragon nest, say 20 vikings to a ship that's 1000 vikings there and the village wouldn't be left defenceless either(call it 500 more warriors defending the village) add in non-warriors(call it 2000 for women children and elderly) and the population of Berk can be estimated at about 4000, much more than we think of when we see the village the films since it looks like maybe a few hundred peoples worth of housing). So yeah I like that part of it, Berk as a legitimately large town with an actual economy such that Gobber isn't just giving away high quality valuable steel(that being said I am a big advocate of the Gobber Hiccup dynamic being much closer, with Gobber acting more as a father to Hiccup than Stoick[prior to the end of HTTYD 1 of course]). Can't say I am as enthused about the Hiccup Astrid dynamic, if you'd made them just a bit only(like 15 or so), I wouldn't mind it as much but 12 year olds are really just kids and the implied sexual tension you've written in feels out of place when that is kept in mind. That being said both Hiccup and Astrid feel fairly in character, and Stoick. Gobber seems a bit out of character but that's not a huge deal. Overall I give it an 8/10. Your writing is excellent and the story isn't bad. Just a few quips that I have keep it from being perfect(as far as fan fictions ever actually achieve perfection) so yeah keep up the good work.
