so perfect it hurts chapter 1 . 7/14 Aw this is cute. What an interesting idea! It would be interesting to explore their relationship having it start with the expectation of romance. Thank's for writing. - SPIH |
villite chapter 1 . 4/4 It's wonderful! I really like the setting of soulmates, and I felt empathy for sherlock for his thought that he might endangered his soulmate because of his soul mark. John was in a low mood and had struggled for a long time when he finally met his soulmate, and everything would be fine for two of them. Thank you for such a wonderful story! |
Azrael Jinsei chapter 1 . 11/1/2019 super cute! the prefect pick-me-up for midterm season. thank you for sharing |
Toodamnmanyfandoms chapter 1 . 10/2/2019 Ahh this is really sweet! Really interesting idea of soulmates! I love the idea of a databank of names/dates for people to figure out their soulmate, and the way your soulmate's first words appearing on your wrist has impacted human society and greetings. So interesting! |

Guest chapter 1 . 7/12/2019 You bring a surprising amount of common sense into a concept devoid of it. Well done, I've never seen that before. |
ilovecastiel18 chapter 1 . 6/11/2019 That was SO FUNNY! I was literally laughing out loud at Sherlock's reaction to "I almost died because of you, you utter bastard!" I don't usually get into soul marks and all that but that was a really good fic! keep writing! |
Love2read23 chapter 1 . 6/3/2019 I'm thinking in circles about John's comment that he only joined the military because of the mark. What if he hadn't joined? Would he have ended up wounded anyways? Would he have had a different mark if John was disinclined to enter the military? Sherlock is right though that his is worst growing up thinking you'll almost kill your mate and they're think you're a bastard would be dreadful. I like the small note that it's not a one or nothing thing and that people can have a second if the first dies. Also, I like leather wrist bands. Thanks for writing. |

4everfictional chapter 1 . 3/16/2019 Amazing! XD Thank you for this refreshing take on the soulmate mark trope, it was an absolute joy to read. :D |
Anla'shok chapter 1 . 3/9/2019 That was delightful, I love how society rolls with it and has people introduce themselves by name, date and place. I can imagine that in crowded cities "oh sorry" as you bump into each other accidently would be a popular birthmark. Makes me wonder if there's a cutoff to "first sentence" so if you quickly say "oh sorry, Oops, John Watson, London, date" it still all gets on the mark. And of course enter the rebellious determinists that think making others' life easy weakens the meaning of soulmates. I also like the idea of temporary soul mates, does that mean the name shows who holds the potential to be your best relationship, and then life happens? Also, it should actually make casual dating easier "Well, dude, I have five years before I find mine, you have four, let's give it a roll". Does that also mean you're confident it'll work so you don't worry about where you'll get a job, if you should wait to buy a house, or having a kid earlier or whatever because your soulmate is the best match for who you will be the day you meet them? I really love stories who make you think. And I like this setup better than the 'soulmate mark but society hates us' tropes. Thinking further, I also wonder if some people have no soulmates, because they'd be abusive partners for example, but if they really work on themselves a mark appears. There's the nature vs nurture aspect to that: would a baby with no mark alert social services that the family isn't wholesome? Or is it that in a world where people all have soulmates and match up everyone grows up in a positive enough environment that it doesn't matter... Anyway I'm really looking forward to this, and where you take the characters. |
