This is definitely cute, but it’s inherently flawed. I’m baffled by just how many people seem to miss the point of that scene. Steven isn’t happy because he met his mom. Seeing Pink Diamond, no matter how sweet it might sound at first, would confirm so many of his questions and self doubts. It would mean he’s not wholly himself, that what White said about him, the identity issues he’s been grappling with for so long might be true. Steven was happy because this proved that even removed from his body, that gem is HIS gem. It wasn’t just her body Pink gave up, but her identity, and she isn’t in there anymore, even without the human body. There are just echoes remaining.

She’s gone.

I kinda wish their reunion lasted a little longer.
