I wasn't sure I'd like this when you introduced Sofia but I'm glad I stuck with if. Excellent story. I liked your plot & the group of evil characters was an interesting mix.

So sad to see Helen portrayed in this manner. I, personally, haven't ever experienced a parent like this so it's difficult to imagine someone being so horrific to their own daughter. I would worry that the daughter would, one day, morph into that character herself. Especially after the parent passes away. Interesting story, though.

Fascinating story, always like fiction where the after effects of any torturous ordeal are minimal. Weaving all four protagonists into the one evil cartel was a smart plot point. Creating such a strong Steph character, who after all she endured in her year long captivity, was able to formulate plans to bring down her captors, definitely gave her the control to regain her life and the satisfaction of manipulating their downfall. The final scene with her family gave Steph a chance to repudiate her mothers and sisters allegations in a very public venue (what will the Burg think?). Thank you.
