I've binged read this story (the prequel and Transference), like three times in a month. It's that good! It makes me a little sad that there isnt much else to satisfy me in the fandom (besides Darkness, which is thrilling and incredible, btw).

I want to let you know, I absolutely love your depiction of Megatron! He is unapologetically a tyrant and how he manipulates every little happening to his advantage is beautiful to watch. So far you haven't tried to 'save' him, like many fanfics do. Thats not a bad thing, but it can come off as heavy -handed, really forced, and totally OOC. But if you are inclined to go in that direction, I feel that it would be just as beautiful to watch, with your careful style of writing.

Another great aspect of the story is how it shows how awful war is and the difficult choices made to pursue a cause, both for autobots and decepticons. There's no clear answer, no perfect line separating good/bad, and its interwoven into all the characters and their choices and reactions. Optimus' choices at the very beginning are clear examples of that. Wheeljack's heated, on the spot firing, and the resulting fallout between him and Bulkhead are another great one. Megatron seeming to both love and hate Jack because he reminds him of Orion Pax is yet another. Meg's definitely isn't a good mech, but its understandable how Jack and Miko (and maybe Raf?) have fallen into his servos.

And on the subject of the kids, wow, you two have done an incredible job of keeping them in character. I mean, when Miko found out that Soundwave was captured and the wholeI missed IT!?" made me smile and remember that this is Miko. She's still got a strong personality even with all the pain and torture and mind-melting experiences. And Raf is still so earnest and kind, but he's grown. And Jack, you can just FEEL his needs and desires and its amazing to watch Megatron play his mind games with him. But even subtler is that Jack is learning (slowly, very slowly) how to be manipulative and keep certain information from Megatron. A really evil side of me hopes that Jack will take the offer. Because I want to see how events would play out if he seriously became Megatron's heir.

I dont know how this story will end. All my current predictions are heavily leaning towards bad/ sad/ gut-punching-shock-inducing melancholy. If that makes sense. Theres just no happy ending.

And that works.

Well now ain't this a sight for sore eyes! So, there I was, doing some poking about in the Transformers fandom when I suddenly remembered the prequel to this story and how good it was. By that point I realized I had missed the ending and you both were halfway through the sequel. It's always nice when skilled writers have a good idea which they follow through on. Both this and Metempsychosis are what I consider to be top quality content and I was appy to binge read this one as soon as I found it. Not sure if you will remember be, but I was a big fan of the prequel. And I am happy to say I am enjoy this installment just as much.

Hope you guys keep doing the good work! I believe I will be review this fic chapter by chapter at some point, to make up for lost time perhaps. Expect to hear from me again!

Ooohh really enjoyed this one! Megs preparing Jack to be his Heir, nice! Can't wait for Ratchet to come into the picture and seeing Jack and Miko. So exciting!
