I have no objection to either m/m or f/f slash, it's only objectionable when the age gap is too big, ie: Harry with Snape or even worse Riddle.

I don't think that Anubis fits, not even a hybrid snake/thestral/Phoenix creature. Try Mephistopheles or Aeschylus if Male, Desdemona or Cleopatra if female.
