Fox McCloude chapter 13 . 7/14 Wow, you really don't pull any punches introducing characters earlier, huh? Now Axl, of all people? You know, despite all the flak he gets I actually like the guy. And it seems Cinnamon does too. And, with that I'm pretty much done, now I'm up to date. It's not easy to find retellings that have just the right balance between original and new content, but the exception proves the rule, and this story definitely fits. Just really, REALLY, try and separate the characters' dialogues properly; that's my only complaint, other than some minor typos here and there that don't actually harm the story's quality. I'll be looking forward for the endgame, I'm sure it's gonna be very exciting. The offer for the Spanish translation is still open, so I'll be here if you accept. Keep up the good work! |
Fox McCloude chapter 12 . 7/14 Well, Layer does look a bit the part of a stripper, so... well, at the very least she didn't throw her lot with Sigma. That's better than nothing XD I think I should remind you: it's important to separate the dialogue from each characters, especially when there are several in the same scene. The navigators get the italic, but the fight at the end made it hard to tell who was talking sometimes. Some of us are rather sensitive with that, and when an otherwise top-notch story gets its quality undermined for those small things, it hurts us too. Only one more chapter to go, and one last Maverick before going after Sigma. Wonder how things will go from here on in. Let's dive in! |
Fox McCloude chapter 11 . 7/14 Well, since you suggest that this story is read while listening to Mega Man soundtracks, I think you can guess which is the obvious choice for this one XD Still, I doubt this'll be the last time X loses control, but at least he'll finally start getting a hold of himself from now on. And judging by the title, the next one will be Storm Eagle, and that'll make the fight even more emotional. Let's get to it! |
Fox McCloude chapter 10 . 7/14 I have to admit, I also feel uncomfortable seeing X act like this, but given that it's all part of Sigma's plan, it might also be necessary. Besides, there's the "power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely", and the stronger X gets, the more he loses control, so it makes sense to an extent. That way, when the realization finally hits him, it'll be much harder. Only three more chapters to go, and this is getting much better with each one. |
Fox McCloude chapter 8 . 7/14 I've noticed that in the past few chapters you've put the dialogue of different characters on the same paragraph. You should probably fix that, since sometimes that makes it hard to make out who's supposed to be talking at the time. Other than that, I'm still enjoying this, very much. On to the next one! |
Fox McCloude chapter 7 . 7/14 It wasn't that bad of a chapter. I'll have you know, while I'm more of an XxAlia shipper, I absolutely LOVED the scene of her trolling Nana to make her jealous. Nice we get to see what Zero is doing in the meantime as well. By the way, I've just put this in the FanficRecs page of TV Tropes. Also, I'd like to request your permission to start a Spanish translation of this story. I've been playing some of the old games lately to bring back memories and I feel I need to share this with more people, if you allow me to. |
Fox McCloude chapter 5 . 7/14 I'd say, I like how you've written X's copy ability here, instead of just getting a new weapon like in the games. Pity Magma Dragoon didn't get to use the Shoryuken during the fight, that would have completed the set along with the Hadouken and the Blaze Kick. It was a nice retelling for the classic intro stage, again, peppered perfectly with the dialogues from both the original game and the remake. And the Repliforce being here as allies rather than antagonists definitely makes it more interesting. Wonder if some will end up changing sides in the future, though. |
Fox McCloude chapter 4 . 7/14 Not too bad for a prologue, I'd say. Considering how much I enjoyed the Day of Sigma OVA (that was material for a TV anime series, I'd say), this was a pretty good retelling, not too much the same but not too different either. Just the right balance that I like. |
Fox McCloude chapter 3 . 7/14 Gotta admit, I find it interesting that you speed up the X4 events (like bringing Iris and the Repliforce, and the drop of Sky Lagoon). But bringing Elpizo too? Gotta admit, I have some mixed feelings with the Zero series (mostly due to X being demoted to secondary role), but now I'm more interested in this. I need to keep reading. |
Fox McCloude chapter 1 . 7/14 Well, this was... rather interesting. I enjoyed playing Maverick Hunter X a lot and was disappointed that future remakes of X2 and X3 ended up canned (nothing against the originals, but the story expansions were very welcome in my opinion). I think I'm going to enjoy this one. |
Amanny chapter 13 . 7/7 Awesome chapter. I'm happy Axl saved Cinnamon and X |
BoxingWGV chapter 10 . 1/25 Zzzzzzzzzzzzz |
Harem Lover 26 chapter 2 . 1/13 I like the addition of orginal characters and even adding in some fro. different series. Maybe you could create a bio page about who they are. However I'm not really happy about how you changed X's origin story. was there any need to change X from being found in a ruin as the last creation of Dr Light into a creation of his student. |
Harem Lover 26 chapter 1 . 1/13 like it so far, but not too keen on Sigma being a sympathetic villain. Keep up the good work. |
caedwards chapter 10 . 1/11 Turning into the Lightbringer was really a great idea |
