I hate that she says severus did so much for her when in reality he ruined things for her. He knew damn well she'd be more accepted somewhere else.

I rlly liked this story! I thought it was really interesting to see things from both James’ and the Slytherin perspectives but the entire time I was just waiting for Lily to be done w Snape haha like she was 17 and how could she not see that he was into the dark arts? But overall I enjoyed this story a lot and yeah

This was an incredible story! I loved how you portrayed James and Lily’s rivalry-turned-friendship-turned-romance. It felt incredibly realistic and it was so beautiful to read! I like to think that the prophecy didn’t come true because Snape wouldn’t have heard it if he weren’t interviewing for Potions Master the night Trelawney gave the prophecy, and he never would have been able to even apply without graduating. So it’s a happy ending in my mind. Thank you for writing!

I really love this story. I think its one of the few that has describe Lily's and Snape's friendship so well. Complicated and ultimately blinded by nostalgia.
I am gonna be pretty honest the first time I read it I did not get any of the Taylor Swift references at all. I just thought that "Reputation" was a good title because it's pretty bad ass.
I read it again ,after Lover and Taylor's documentary, and it was not until half throught chapter 5, when I notice the how you were naming the chapters after the songs.
Now I have been reading it more carefully and have listen to Reputation too and I am apreciating it even more.

This story was just awesome. Quite literally I had to loose a whole night's sleep to read it whole. Nevertheless, I loved it. You could've added a bit more cute elements here and there but you did impressive job on this story. Keep doing whatever it is you're doing.

This fic is the greatest slowburn to ever grace the internet. This is my second read of it, and i think i love it more than the first!

I got addicted to your stories after reading this one. It’s a original plot and loved all thw twists it has. It was sad to read the Snape incident but the development of James and Lily relationship was amazing. Thank you for such a story

Ok I stopped reviewing regularly but here are some feedback thoughts that you’re totally free to ignore!
- I liked how intimacy was interwoven in quite a natural way to the story. Especially how life moves on after it and it became just another part of their relationship. I didn't enjoy all of the smut parts though (I think their first experience was probably the best written) but I'm not usually a fan of smut so yeah - take that with a grain of salt!
- In the middle I found Dumbledore cracking down on students to be a bit out of character, he was usually more passive and forgiving and always seeing the best in people. He worked with Snape closely later in life and the seeds of that relationship aren't hinted at all in here. Also surely Snape would have used his "final" chance after the Lupin incident? - but I think the right tone was reached for Dumbledore in the end. Maybe marauder Dumbledore is different to Harry’s Dumbledore
- And more on Snape - his canonical ‘always’ and working with Dumbledore arc doesn’t look like it relates to this story. I mean firstly he was expelled so coming back to teach potions and to garner the respect he has seems implausible (Hagrid was a caretaker only for years until he started teaching also) and just... yeah he stepped a little too far here. All consistent with his character though and how you built it! The Lily/Snape blow out and relationship was really well done I thought.
- Professor Rogers in her first chat with Lily I found actually super unhelpful and preachy. The matching backstory came a little too late. It was good when she apologized.
- Minor typing errors throughout in almost every chapter, a nice clean read through would make the reading experience less interrupted
- Slytherin Lily was great and the darkness of Slytherin house and the tension/turmoil it caused for Lily was handled really well.
- Marauders were great. Each of them. Sirius, Peter and Remus.
- At the end of the day, Slytherin still WERE bad and I feel like this is a very lost opportunity that Rowling herself didn't handle very well. Lily never really felt safe and that just felt too far on Slytherin. It’s like we get that not all of Slytherin is bad but Lily and like one other person feels like an exception to the rule as opposed to Slytherins actually being decent. Why aren’t normal people ever sorted into Slytherin? And specifically, why aren’t the favourable Slytherin traits ever appreciated? So in this way, the story and her Slytherin reputation was more for drama rather than an insightful or nuanced portrayal of Slytherin house which is what I hoped it could be
- Overall, great story. I'm always super impressed by an author's ability to churn out a consistently quality, long story with obvious foresight and planning evident. And writing that makes me laugh, cry, worry and generally emote haha. And most importantly - your James and your Lily were great! And that's what I sign up for (:

Ahhhhh that was so dramatic. It makes so much (sad) sense that Snape would do the flyers. The falling out and his manipulation and her coming into her own and James’s contrasting support and respect was all done really, really well.

Your swift quotes are killing me. I actually like how that went down - I was surprised I’m not normally a fan of sin (especially on fanfiction lol) BUT it wasn’t just like a tropefest and that was good! I like the introduction of Marlene. Oh Lily, life’s about to get so much harder. I’m glad she’s got some allies.

Go James. I really feel like if she had been in Slytherin this would all be canon.

I can’t hate it because 1. The next chapter is readily available and 2. It is such a dramatic moment to end in! And I want to see James seeing her like this before we go to her POV. I want to see her POV now.
This is so good. Also James is so wise to have waited before making a move. 7th year James is so great.

Your chapters get even better! I’m so consumed by emotion. Especially that second year Slytherin saga. Your writing is really evocative

Wow. What an amazing chapter! You toe this line with dramatic irony of the reader seeing a different scene than the narrator (eg James’s understanding of Lily’s reactions to the Snape duel) so so well. Normally the narrator just comes across as dense so this is so good!
I also absolutely loved the Slekeazy potion class! I can’t believe I’ve never read that scenario before. It was so brilliant.
Also super excited for James to be on track with his feelings for Lily. Like any good Jily fic. Hehe. This is really all done so well!

Ahhh I’m totally on a T Swift playlist right now as I read this. I haven’t listened to 1989 in so long and it’s my favorite album of hers.
And on the story! I love love how you have done Snape. He cares for Lily and I can see why people say what they say about him and her but also why she keeps him close. Also I can see elements of what I suppose is truth coming from James’s perspective too. It’s just all so clever - the dual perspectives, both biased and the truth lying somewhere in the middle. I love also how their banter and friendship can’t help itself from manifesting whenever they talk. It’s cos the spark! It’s there! Despite the differences between them.
