DetectiveMinerva chapter 1 . 1/13/2019 Wow! You've written a truly powerful story here, both showing a mother's love for her child and the incredible power of Christ in changing a person's heart. Never did I think I'd read a believable story about Hyacinth changing her ways, but this was definitely it. From Emmet and Daisy's takedown of her (and Richard's confrontation; bravo to him) to her finally accepting Jesus into her heart, it was an amazing portrayal. I think Patricia Routledge herself would love this, since she is a devout Christian in real life! Another point of the story I loved was your take on Sheridan. I know it was always a running joke on the series that he was possibly gay, but your spin on it makes a heck of a lot of sense. Sheridan being so frustrated with Hyacinth trying to turn him into a clone of herself (basically trying to make him a daughter instead of a son) and Richard's complete passiveness (not standing up to Hyacinth and making sure that Sheridan became a proper man) totally explains why he would pretend to be gay just to frustrate his folks and leech money from them. All in all, another excellent story, and I can't wait to read more from you! P.S. If I can make a request, would you please consider writing a story about Emmet? Next to Onslow, he's my favorite character, and I love his sarcastic remarks about Hyacinth. Can you imagine if Emmet wrote an original musical about an overbearing prima donna who can't carry a tune in a bucket (pun definitely intended!), and it's secretly based on Hyacinth? |
