So sweet !

This was very good. I really enjoyed it. I felt badly for Neal when he was hurt and pushed to the floor. I felt badly when it seemed like his co-workers didn’t trust him. He was impressive to watch as he got his phone back and gave it to Peter discreetly. Neal saved them all with that action. I laughed over elements of El and Peter’s party and thought Peter showed both his appreciation and concern nicely. I was glad Johnston apologized, he needed to do that. At one point we were sure Neal was going to lose his life for daring to protect Johnston.

Neal’s memories and his comparison of his childhood to what could have been with different parents was heartbreaking. He doesn’t dwell on it though, he is grateful for the moment, for the Burke’s, for the freedom he does have. Thanks for writing, we are always happy to see a story from you.

I liked your story. You struck a good balance between the present and the past for Neal and didn’t overdo the violence and didn’t make his reflections of the past too whiny, just realistic. You also did a good job of keeping everyone in character. Nicely done.
