This is awesome, Two of my favorite thing right now! I was just getting into Cold steel 2 and I am currently re-watching fate/unlimited blade works, what are the odds. Glad you're going to keep Shirou loyal to Rin. You should think about having Shirou on all of the opposite team to Rean.

First off let me just say that I absolutely love your story so far and thank you so much for writing it! Your crossing over one of my favorite animes/visual novels with my favorite rpg series of all time! Not only that but your doing such a good job of nailing all the characters just right!

On another note with regards to the shipping and such how is he supposed to stay loyal to Rin when you states in the story that he was never in a relationship? Also you do you with regards to your story but if i were to pair Shirou with anyone at all in LOH i’d say go with Laura because she is so much like saber its almost scary. She even has the same blue white color scheme in her outfits in cold steel two!

Finally are you excited regarding the cold steel 3 announcement? I’m so happy the old localization team members like Hatsu will be working on it!

I'm on the fence about this but I'll follow
after finishing the 1st game I was pissed at the end where they hang you off a cliff then blew up the cliff sending you flying to who knows where
that and the plot imo has too many similarities to evangelion

While I can say nothing bad about previous chapter this one is dissapointment. As well as author notes. let's start from minor details, Zelretch played main role in creating Holy Grail, Zelretch is the only one user of Kaleidoscope in Shirou's universe, at least willing, for a moment. So blaiming Holy Grail is still blaming Zelretch. Another thing is that Shiro didn't used even minor reinforcement of his body. Canon Shirou, who thought that he know his limits, used reinforcement regularly. (And on many instances overused it refusing to stop when it's needed which in turn lead to change of his coloration).Now, let's pretend that happened if he used it. Despite that you see in some graphical sources, reinforcement is invisible to naked eye. But other maguses and magical beasts can feel it (and some indeed comprehend it as "visual effects". Well, that happen then? He isn't avarenthan Emma can actually feel magical fluctuations on quite a distance and you suddenly have a new plot point! And there is no chance that she bring it right now. Now let's continue with OOC-ness of Shiro. He seems to be too proactive in talks (and yet you somehow keep turning his every phrase to one which will not change the situation aka unneded. And it's not his signature "statements of oblivious but wrong stuff"). He stated that he is against being involved in development of new weapons despite the fact that the countries in this world is in constant battle against monsters. He isn't Archer yet to be dissapointed in humanitynlike this and assume worst from start. He believe that he can somehow find a way back and even made an oath but he should be fully aware that if Zelretch himself will not help him his chances are nill. Rin maybe can help him eventually (big maybe) but he can't be aware of the fact that she become Zelretch's pupil. Yoa also not that original with "ignore all the girls around" aproach, already hapened enough, most iconic probably "The Hill of Swords" from gabriel blessing. Now, the perhaps most important part is that he is attracted to Rin but yet to love her (even if he already "made love" her and Saber. They love actually is still in development. While he almost instantly loves Arthuria in some routes and loves Sajura in others, in that cases he isn't really rrady to abandon them if he have a choice, in Sakura's route even Archer is shocked. But he actually ready to left Rin behide to be a able to save people. ...So go and make this pairing with Laura even if off-screen if you are not capable to write romance. She totally his type.
Also, you seem to have plans for the third one but why don't you put Shirou in the different team in the first two assignments? I really don't wan't to read a 40k of the script from the game I actually have in Steam and which I fineshed 3 times...

ill have to thank you. because of this fanfic i found a new game to play and so far i am liking it. keep up the story.

While you mention that shirou will be more proactive in the future( so this doesn’t feel like he’s just along for the ride). The fact that he sticks with rin is concerning, unless she very soon makes her way into this world as well. What agency will shirou even have if he gets no meaningful relations with any of the characters in addition to being dragged along a plot where he means little to nothing in. I’ve yet to see a good crossover that keeps the main character of both universes relevant, splitting the story in half to allow for both just diminishes both, either follow exclusively shirou, or don’t make this a crossover and follow exclusively rean.

I really enjoyed this chapter so thanks a lot.

Since everyone in the review section is talking on the fate side of things, i will focus more on Trails xD

1 - Red Moon Rose are books you collect through Cold Steel and tells a story about Vampires. Infact, it reminds me of Tsukihime. Kinda. It's no problem if you aren't gonna use it, just wanted to remind you of them.

2 - Please do not focus on Rean romance, especially since you are going with that pairing. It already gets shoved enough in our Face in the game, and imo, you focused on it a bit much in that chapter as well. You could've somehow changed that awful boon scene at the beginning (by Shero interfering somehow), and it would've been much better, and would change a bit the Rean/Alisa dynamic from the game.

3 - Since you said there won't be any major divergence until chapter 3 (that's the Nord chapter, right?), maybe try to speed up a bit until then.

4 - Rin would love to be in Zemuria. All these magic filled gems and crystals. A dream for her xD

Otherwise, keep up :)

This first chapter was really good. We got the usual basic setting explanation being well done and the character introductions are also pretty good. I'm looking forward to more chapters.
