Wow, reminds me of OPERATION UTOPIA of Codename Kids Next Door.

The angst in this is spot on.
The way you had Hyness in this fic was amazing. To think he'd be self-destructive after all the truth was given to him by that voice. The back and forth dialogue, the characterization, was all great. Really hits it to the HiAD in Star Allies.
Major probs dude, keep at it.

I really like the back-and-forth dialogue within Hyness - the relentless depression seems almost as though the "voices" are his own split personality and growing madness mocking what remains of his sanity... which I suppose is the point.

And yeah, Wave 3 lore really benefited the Jambastions. It really makes Hyness appear that he once cared for the mages, and it's seen in the brief paragraph about Zan. I liked this angsty introspective tale overall, although if it's any consolation I suppose getting the good ending in HiAD will free him from this misery. ;)

I love the amount of angst in here, and the voices switching from insanity to maturnal and back again? Genius! Hyness is betrayed so well, and you really nailed his perspective. I didn't even play the new update (rip lol) but I approve of this so hard!
