This was awkwardly lovely and I could totally see it playing out. They were so caught up in the hustle and bustle of getting to the “I do’s” that they just rushed right into their coupling and it wasn’t perfect and it wasn’t romantic. And you perfectly walked these two through the awkwardness and brought them to a lovely coupling.

Gosh I just love this piece. It rings so true for them, as people, trying their best. They come to it with their own doubts and expectations and maybe it's not perfect right off the bat but that doesn't mean it won't ever be. Sexy and brilliantly in character, really well done.

Oh My... I do not even know where to start. For the first I want to say that I really love all your stories so much. This type of story is rare and it's always a pleasant surprise to stumble upon. And this is the type of story you want to go back to reread. Why? Well it's simple. You have such a great writting style. You let us "see" the scene and pull the reader into it. And the most important thing is the plot, the main issue, which is always complex. But let's be honest when the relationship was simple? Never. So I love the psychological component of this story and the way you solve the problem.

She whispered in Lucien's ear, as though sharing a secret, "Hold me".
...finally! This is definately my favourite line.

And the end... Hot doesn't seem to be a strong enough word to describe this. This was so intense, so tender, so steamy, so charged, so powerful...so...so...I'm speechless!

Lovely! This is so them! They’ve waited so long...so long that their fist and second time is lovingly awkward and far from their hungry fantasies of this moment. Lucien is literally overcome with the intensity of really having sex with Jean, and even as he tries to gently serve her needs during the second time, he is out of sync with her. And Jean! The push and pull of desperately wanting this moment and this new life and worrying about and feeling guilty about her love and passion for Lucien. I love the irony of the priest calling Jean”my child” and chuckling as he reminds Jean that it’s been a long time and to give it another go. This allows her to embrace her new life and shut off her mind and just be in the moment with Lucien. Beautifully and insightfully written.

You know me well enough to know how much I love their imperfections, and this fic hit all the right notes for me.

Jean wishing she was at home in their house despite Lucien fixing up the fancy suite for them, Lucien falling asleep with the job unfinished, Jean’s overthinking (so much overthinking), then Lucien reading every sign wrong (so so wrong)...and of course it all coming together so well at the end (pun definitely intended).

It’s just so much in character, and manages to be both funny and romantic. Bravo!

Well, that was a wild and bumpy ride, but they got there in the end. As much as I love the perfect love stories, I love the imperfections even more. Also, I love the idea of Lucien's whale breathing.
