What a cliffhanger to boot

One thing i admire the most with authors in this site is when they “buck” the trend and pair harry with someone other than Ginny or Hermione and i think it’s because Daphne is a clean slate... I’m loving this so far.. honestly think that Ginny was never a natural fit for him...Hermione seemed to more gel with him than Ginny ever did and was the one constant in Harry life.

Please write the next chapter already. Thank you very much. I really appreciate it and liked it a lot.

This is an interesting take and I'm looking forward to your update. The only thing that jarred for me was your calling Greengrass Senior "Xander". That, for me, is a name that's reserved for Xander in BtVS and it keeps mentally kicking me out of your story and the HP 'verse.

You made an author's note about the chess game being important, so that makes it fair game for commentary.

Unless the rules of wizarding chess are completely different from regular chess, and even if they are, there is a problem with the game you depicted.
In a regular game of chess, castle (or rook) to F4 wasn't just a move; it was also the destruction of the black queen which appears to have been thrown away in exchange for a pawn.
If wizarding chess is different, then there are still problems, they just change, given that the pawn then rook moves to F4 are sequential white moves with only the black queen acting in between.
If you are going to include detailed descriptions of the game, they need to be accurate enough to not be unbelievable to those who play the game.
