Hum... I'm going to take a page out of Gabriel's book : Marinette is too trusting here. Why would she welcome back someone that has already proven to her that he was completely untrustworthy ? What stopping him or anyone else from her class as a matter of fact, from turning against her the next time someone lied about her ? Since apparently she doesn't even deserve the benefit of the doubt.
Trust shouldn't be given so easily, maybe if she was a little more reserved about according her trust and forgiveness, people around her would value it far more instead of taking it for granted.

I can see this going somewhere.

Real quick, I think Adrian is too much of a cinnamon roll to turn on someone like that. Even with Chloe, who used to be one of the meanest characters in the series, he still spends time with her and hear her out.

They should cooperate to expose Lila's lies.

And she should do something about Alya, confronting her as Ladybug and telling her that she no longer can trust her with the Fox Miraculous after she betrayed her best friend like that. The finishing touch should be asking her to close the Ladyblog pointing that someone who can't check the facts shouldn't be divulging news about her.

I love this one! Sad and beautifully written with just enough hope to make reading it satisfying.

Ok, finally got around to reading this after we finally got to binge-watch the second half of season 2 this weekend. You have me hating Lila even more than I already do. I honestly thought Marinette acted a little childishly with regard to Lila during the first part of the season finale, so I could imagine how your set-up in this one shot happened.
The bit about the other heroes treating her with the “kindness she longed for outside the mark” cut me deep, too. Fantastic choice to have Marinette dragging her feet to transform and admitting to being tempted to let the Weeping Jester “dish out some of his power” on her classmates. Her “ability” to withstand the akuma’s attack herself was a really nice touch.
Chat offering hugs. Ha! Of course he would. His reaction to her revelation as Ladybug was lovely, both in the moment with her and in the “pay-off” as Marinette. Marinette showed a lot of growth at the end that make me smile big, “a smile that outshone his photo shoots.”
Were you intending to leave readers wondering if Adrien guessed Marinette was Ladybug? That’s the wondering on my lips. Thanks so much for this (it was worth the wait for me).

Wow, I... I really want to see more of this one. For it to not be a one-shot after all. Very relatable.
