Reviews for London Born
tamedbanshee chapter 65 . 8/11
I adored this, from start to finish - the changes made and everything which stayed the same. The development. God, I'm gonna end up re-reading this over and over again. Not to mention the sequel which I'm already knee deep in. Thank you so much for writing this, it just reminded me of how much I love Doctor Who. I literally couldn't stop reading, messed up my sleep schedule and everything because it was so addicting.
Rose1414 chapter 64 . 7/20
Just finished re-reading this story so that I can start reading the sequel.
I love this story and Zoe!
TwinTigerLover chapter 39 . 7/8
despite knowing she was going to die, I have spent the whole chapter crying. I now need to stop reading for a bit to pull my self together.

seriously, you've made me an emotional wreck. I don't cry like ever and here I am streaming. :'(

Always1995 chapter 65 . 6/11
I just wanted to say that this is one of the best fanfics, not even in just the Doctor Who world, that I've ever read! Zoe is such a well-rounded character and fits in wonderfully with not only The Doctor, but everyone else as well. I'm so looking forward to the sequel!
Catlorde chapter 65 . 6/9
I hope you’re feeling better! I came back to reread some of this fic, and I wanted to mention how much I love it again. I like the way you describe the tenth Doctor in the last chapter and am looking forward to the next installment. I get what you said about waiting until you’re feeling well enough to edit, and never fear! We will still be here to read and enjoy your lovely writing whenever you can get to it, no matter how long it takes. Get well soon!
Isabelnecessaryonabicycle chapter 65 . 6/4
Ah! Awesome! Just finished rereading this story again, it's amazing! Really can't wait for the sequel i'm sure i'll love it just as much! :D
InsanityUnleashed chapter 65 . 4/24
Hi! Just want to say I really enjoyed this whole journey! Your original episodes; developing Jackie, Rose, Mickey and Jackie beyond what the show gives us; actually making the terrifying adventures the 'bits in between'; the slow romances between Zoe/Doctor and Zoe/Reinette: all of it was completely delightful! I've spent all day reading it and oh boy is it a good thing I didn't have anything important to do! I really love the effort and time you clearly put into this story, and it really shows! You're incredibly talented! First off, gotta say, not usually a big fan of Rose, either in fics, or canon, she's great for the Doctor, sure, but her brashness always rubbed me the wrong way and most of the time I'd look at her and think "wow she really is nineteen", y'know? Admittedly, not much older than that but Rose makes me feel ancient. I had none of that with you! Thank you for turning a character I found iffy, while keeping her perfectly in character, into someone I could relate to, even if I find her frustrating.
Thank you for turning the Doctor into someone a lot less than a god, into a man - even if definitely not human - who screws up sometimes, who falls in love even knowing it's a bad idea, but chooses to do it anyway, who deeply regrets the awful thing he did, but no longer refuses to let it stop him from living!
And thank you for Zoe! She's a breath of fresh air and (mostly) well-thought out plans. Although she gets the short end of the stick adventure-wise (I dunno if you wanna ease up on that a little, it seems like it's only ever her feeling the consequences of travelling with the Doctor. I don't think it's just the point of view either. Felt like it went from torture, to stuck with Reinette and grieving twice over, to seeing the untempered schism, to the four years of study and no sleep. While Rose and Jack were mostly fine, and Jackie went understandably nuts. Like I get that she's the love interest, and protag, but it's a bit much from my perspective as an author? I'm not trying to tell you how to write your story, I did very much enjoy the ride, but I feel it needs to be said.) I do love her! So thank you so much for sharing her with us!
Hope the sequel and editing is going well, I look forward to hearing from you in hopefully a few months? Happy writing! Or editing!
blondmage chapter 65 . 4/1
Oh man. I just finished rereading this and I've got to say that its as amazing as I remember. London Born has to be my favorite Doctor Who fic ever. I mean you go into such detail that it amazes me and I love it. I can't wait for the sequel to come out this summer.
Hearteyesmf chapter 65 . 3/30
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: this is the best Doctor Who fanfic I’ve ever read. I’m so glad I took the time to reread it before the sequel comes out this summer! Zoe is such a great character, she just makes everything and everyone better. Jack/Mickey is a ship that I never put much thought into before reading this story, but you’ve set the foundation for them so beautifully that I’m excited to see what happens next with them. Hopefully there will be plenty Tyler sister bonding in the sequel as well. Obviously what I’m most looking forward to though is more Doctor/Zoe action and how things may change with Ten in the picture. I can’t wait to read what will happen with Team TARDIS in the next installment!
Karen0610 chapter 9 . 3/20
I just spent the last couple of days rereading this amazing story and it makes me even more excited for the continuation of Zoe’s story! I fell in love with her all over again. Her relationships with her family and the Doctor are my absolute favorite thing of the story. Since it has been established that this story isn’t following canon exactly, I’m excited to see where her story goes.
**PS I’m putting a review in an earlier chapter since I had already reviewed the last half of the story and the site doesn’t allow more than one review per chapter.
readingtilldawn chapter 1 . 3/17
With social isolation in place at Australia, there's not more I would love to do than read this story all over again! Here's another round of adventure with Zoe Tyler!
ThatNerd1 chapter 29 . 3/7
'a baked potato with extra butter' is a simultaneously beautiful and hilarious metaphor
ThatNerd1 chapter 7 . 3/7
This is amazing! Zoe is shook!
Shade-Se7erne chapter 65 . 2/19
Absolutely loved this story! Literally the only thing I've done outside of work is read this for the last week and now I'm going to be absolutely lost waiting for the second part (though I did panic before reading your bio that this would be a standalone). Fingers crossed you won't keep us waiting too much longer!

I think you have done an amazing job with writing this, the detail you've managed while staying true to the series amazes me and I'm so intrigued to see what changes to the timeline you have in mind for the future. Honestly one of the best I have ever read in years! Well done!
