Reviews for Chuck vs The Fight
phathead01 chapter 4 . 4/14
i'd forgotten how amazing this story is and am extremely grateful that it was brought to my attention again. I hope this finds you safe and well during this very strange time in the world. It's my hope that since there may be a little downtime in your life that you would consider continuing this story line. Stay safe and thank you!
Grayroc chapter 3 . 2/21
What a great story. Angst filled, for sure, but so well written. O'Flannery is an original character who fits seamlessly into the narrative. Malamoo is the undoubted Queen of Angst, but you are worthy of standing beside her on the podium. Looking forward to the conclusion.
Grayroc chapter 4 . 2/21
Well, I'm going to grab some water, some food and stand in line, eagerly waiting for the next chapter.
De Amicus chapter 4 . 1/30
I stand by my previous comment, IMHO this is the best fanfiction I have read in quite a while.

We haven't had much action, intrigue, and danger? Other than the constant threat that taggart will just off Sarah with an explosion or something, or [try to] kidnap Chuck as leverage. After all, she does already have his money. And if the real motive behind 'sequestering' the fighters isn't so that taggart can make sure only the correct individuals are in fighting shape come tourney, I'd be surprised. No, no danger at all!

'Till next time. :~)
De Amicus chapter 3 . 1/30
If this was a sci-fi show I would say O'Flannery is Chuck from the future, or maybe one of their kids, but that's not really this fandom's cup of tea.

In all honesty, this is the best piece of fanfiction I have read in a long time, and I've read some that were quite excellent. Looking forward to reading more of your work.
Harakan chapter 4 . 1/8
Of course its not the end Tagart and Blood bijach is lurking over there shoulders but most impressive was showdown in the restaurant when finally Sarah took a stand and defend "her territory" like i said something like that just must happened to klick in Sarah's head and finally fight for their marriage and love. To bad you didn't continue this great story.
Harakan chapter 3 . 1/8
Nice to see a glimpse of what i have said chapter before but forgot that he still have intersect and he never be on danger but it would help to throw all Sarah boundaries toward her marriage and love with Chuck.
Harakan chapter 2 . 1/8
Good talk with old Irish guy he crack up Sarah's fear of love for Chuck but i think only one thing can help to break all hers walls a that is been Chuck in danger and her protective instincts in her like in Phase three pull that and i can see one more brunette beat up to a pulp if necessary just pot Chuck in enough danger good story.

Greg6419 chapter 4 . 4/1/2019
Ok, finally pulled up FF on the desktop (I've been reading on ancient I-pad which I hate trying to type on), where I can type (sort of), and leave a review. I have read both of your "Chuck" fics three times so far. Some of the best work I've seen on here! I love your prose, your dialogue, action, but mostly the heart that's in your writing. You have perfectly (IMHO) tapped into a Sarah Walker that reflects the struggle that the final episodes burdened her already cobbled together psyche with.
Anyway, here's hoping that there's another chapter on the horizon!

Best wishes,
Greg

Loved, LOVED this chapter. You know, this story could have really dragged out. Sarah could have been much more hesitant or gone back and forth about making any kind of commitment. But that hasn’t happened. As the story has shown quite clearly, Chuck and Sarah aren’t the same people they were before, which is why there isn’t any going back to what they were. There is only moving forward.

Hearing Sarah’s introspections through this story has been wonderful to hear. It gives us as clear a view into how exactly she’s not the same Sarah as before. Her commitment to pushing forward is something I don’t think we ever saw from Sarah in the show, even when they were married. For that reason the scene on the dance floor was so...refreshing. She had a plan, a plan that would make her vulnerable (which again we seldom saw in the show), and she trusted her memories of Chuck enough to see them through, even though they were in a public place.

I’m glad that you didn’t end this here, although, like you said, it would be quite easy for us as readers to fill in the gaps. And for some stories that’s fine, but I think these two deserve more here. Plus, as you implied, there are still some loose ends to tie up, and I have a feeling there going to be a twist or two that is going to make it tough for Sarah. I have a feeling that this tournament, or the lead of to it, is going to be stacked against her somehow. But I can’t help but think of the movie ‘Bloodsport’ with Jean Ckaude Van Dam as I think of the upcoming tournament. I’m looking forward to seeing that action play out. Hopefully you get the next chapter out soon. Thanks again for writing this

O’Flannery is really turning out to be some Irish Cupid. His ability to read these two people that he barely knows, especially Chuck, is quite astonishing. It’s nice to learn a bit about his history, specifically with his wife. It gives great context to his ability and willingness to help these two, especially Sarah. He sees something in her that only Chuck has ever seen before.

Nice watershed moment at the taco truck. The link between Chuck’s presence and touch, and her memories finally being linked with emotions is a great way for us to see that there might be some hope for them yet. Loved that plot device. Well done.

So glad to see another chapter of this story. So great to see them really reconnecting again. Now they just have to resolve the issue of the eponymous fights. Great stuff, thanks for sharing and I look forward to next time.

Best,

Ruari.
