There's intent I guess, to have "conflict" (?or in this case "conflicted" Daphne at war with disobedient feelings?) to add drama.

In my case. Aloof unfriendly Daphne getting long in the tooth for my taste. More dislike building than empathy or sympathy or understanding her. Kind of sketchy reason/excuses.
Two alternatives would be:
1) The "fighting" her feelings in resisting "liking" Harry was hugely sped up, not so drawn out, chapter after chapter.
2) MORE complexity added to flesh her internal conflict: Daphne's mental/emotional struggles augmented in complexity and details. And or maybe she "gives ground" sooner (not so cold, unfriendly, perhaps even starts dating Harry) BUT then another layer of struggle option could be added to add a bit more delay/drama.

I am enjoying this story so far. It's very good for a first fanfic.

As a mechanical enginerd, I applaud you for the time and effort you put into your work. I have often fantasized about trying to write a piece myself, so I am glad to see someone from a similar background as me, take the plunge into writing.

As for this story; really enjoying it thus far! I'm a recent convert to Daphne as a pairing. She's a perfect blank canvas, so I can really appreciate the freedom that offers to writers.
