I like Harry's attitude to the shadow's presence.
"He just doesn't see the point in acting afraid when he's not." I love it.
I love how Harry's biase attitude surprises Cassandra.
"A normal life for me would be one without vassals. But they sort of forced their way in," I lovehow this concersation does not go as Cassandra expected it to. Although, to be honest, no one is prepared for Harry and how different his life is from what it seems to be. His vassals are the best example of it.
""I've seen—you don't know how many murders and rapes I've seen."
"Well, no, because you haven't told me."" Harry's the best.
No wonder Cassandra reacted like that. She wanted this new shadow mage to understand what tragedy their lives are. Instead she got an advice how to fix it.
I'm glad she came back to get more pointers.
I love Harry's sarcastic comments.
Cassandra is so dramatic and tragic and compared to Harry it makes her funny.

it Probably didn’t help that she has a touch of the Black Madness exasperated by her fear of the shadows. This is such a very different Harry so very powerful but it doesn’t go to his head like it did Voldemort ir Dumbledore ir gives him the arrogance of the Malfoys he just is Harry . With Cassandra showing up I wonder if while the whole Horcrux might have woke it up but what do you bet that like To is metamorph trait that the shadow magic was brought to light in Harry because of being a half blood, related to the Blacks through his grandmother Dorea and just needed a bit if a push by the whole Horcrux in his head? I look forward to more.

I think this chapter more than the seven chapters in the first story ir the three before this one explains exactly who and what Harry is. He is the Godfather that protects his family, he us the benevolent LandOwner from eons ago that would protect everyone on his land but he really isn’t a Dark Lord maybe Grey but not Dark at least not as Modern Britain understands a Dark Lord to be.

Ooo I like that pairing very different but I like it.

Yeah I don’t trust Granger to get marked then say it was forced and try and get at Harry that way...

This was interesting. So different ways to go. Harry was fighting, always. So his shadows grew powerful. The other one isolated herself and her shadows seem to be fine tuned and focused mainly on her.

Lovely confrontation as always. I love that she has to continually wrap get head around this idea but finally understands in the end.

Reforming from the inside is a very Hermione thought but I wonder what she'll find here and how she'll react to it because so far her only frame of reference is Voldemort and that won't work here.
"This isn't at all the kind of man she thought she would confront. She thought she would have to beat back evil impulses, not—drag him out of his shell." It does require a completely different tactic.
Of course Harry is surprised by Hermione's reasoning - he's as umambitious as they come. He barely agrees to make vassals.
"A moment later, Padma stirs and complains, "Susan, I was taking a nap. What are you laughing about?"" And here I thought that Hermione noticed that Harry really doesn't want to rule anything.
I like how the talk with Theodore made Hermione reexamine Dumbledore's narration about the second year. Knowing her it probably wasn't the only one.
Hermione saw how Harry operates and what he cares about. Now she understands and plans accordingly.
