Nice story

You said you wanted ideas for Grimm and I had a few, maybe one of these is good.

#1. A praying mantis that is well armored and the size of an Ursa. Its arms can be used to shield it’s head while being able to jab forward at a moment's notice to strike. Six legs and one extra arm on each of it’s sides of its body. A lot of Grimm seem to need to stop to attack but this could just keep advancing.

#2. A tunneling creature, I don’t know what it’s main body should be but tentacles will come off it. The main body will stay underground all the time where most hunters can’t get it. The tentacles will come up from underground and attack people or hold them so others can. If it’s tentacles get cut off it can just retreat more underground and regrow them, no long term harm done. Maybe it can have the ability to make vibrations to loosen soil to make it easier to move through and to temporarily make quicksand or quick dirt or snow? Whatever, to trap enemies in the ground.

#3. An armadillo that can shoot spikes, not enough ground Grimm have ranged attacks. I don’t know how big it would be but it would be well armored so it can tank long range shots and if something gets close it can just curl up into a ball and roll away. It can have elephant trunks on it’s sides that shoot the spikes so it can shoot while rolling.

#4 A small snake that can burrow into people’s necks and take control of their bodys, basically like Goa'uld from StarGate. Maybe these are rare and only Salem uses them but it could make interesting fights against turned hunters.

If you want more new Grimm you could just copy some of the Zerg from Starcraft. A Zergling could attack with the arm spears on it’s back while it runs by an enemy, even if they don’t in game. The acid of Roaches can blind hunters and hurt them over time. A Hydralisk has it’s spikes for ranged attacks and blade arms for melee. A Lurker would be hard to get to as it stays underground while stabbing spikes up. A Swarm Host just keeps sending more enemies at you. An Ultralisk would be smaller than a Goliath but it would be a lot faster, it would be terrifying to have one let alone multiple charging at you.

A Mutalisk looks weird which not enough Grimm do and it can fly. The fact that it can ricochet it’s projectiles off one target into another, could be hard to adapt to. A Viper can split up a group of hunters by pulling one into a different group of Grimm, even pulling a weapon out of a hunters hand could turn the tide of a fight. A Brood Lord is slow but it can shoot from so far away it helps keep people at bay. Plus it shoots something living that attacks on it’s own once it lands.

Well those are my ideas for Grimm. Are you willing to hear ideas for events that can happen in the story or character interactions because I have some of those too. I like your story by the way.
