I thought you concluded this quite nicely! This fic was a fantastic read. It was really nice seeing a more vulnerable side of Aizawa. Hope to see more from you soon!
ravenlenora chapter 1 . 12/18/2018
This was beautiful and I cried like a baby.
fencer29 chapter 5 . 12/15/2018
That last bit between Todoroki and Midoriya was cute (actually I'm not sure that Midoriya actually hates Endeavor, but I'm pretty sure that somewhere along the line he lost any respect he had for the #2 hero). That being said, you're probably right that it wouldn't have fit in this fic, especially after the end of the previous chapter.

As I said several chapters ago, it is a somber story. But it's worth reading.
alightintheshadows chapter 4 . 12/3/2018
This entire concept is just brilliant. I loved every second of these past four chapters. Aizawa showing what it really means to be a hero and exposing them to decisions they might have to make was heart-breaking, but it also let the students see a more vulnerable side of him. Like how he acknowledged that his friend made the right decision by sacrificing herself for that girl, but there was a selfish part of him that wanted it to be someone else. The moment between him and his class when he made them promise to be selfish for him had me crying. Mina making him promise to be selfish too was absolutely adorable. I can't wait for the final chapter to see how you wrap this masterpiece up!

Personally, I feel like they should go to Nana's grave, especially because of the one for all ties between her and midoriya
fencer29 chapter 3 . 11/19/2018
It may be a lot of Aizawa monologuing, but who better to express the story.

That being said I do question one aspect of your head canon. While it's possible that Aizawa may have been abused (it also seems likely that he may have initially been admitted to UA as part of the General Studies course, and was later advanced to the Hero course) - I don't believe that UA had a school boarding program prior to the construction of the Alliance Heights dormitories. Otherwise I doubt Uraraka would have been living as cheaply as she could in a small, run-down apartment which strained her parents' finances (compared to which Alliance Heights did seem like a mansion).
fencer29 chapter 2 . 11/17/2018
Perhaps the reason there are so few reviews is because this is a very somber subject, and not an easy one to address. Even just the ending of the first chapter was enough to make for a complete (albeit short) story, but it appears that there is more to come.

I appreciate the research you've put into getting the culture correct (too often people, often inadvertently, attempt to overlay a different culture on the BMHA universe). And the explanation for having the cemetery makes sense.

That being said I do have to wonder about a couple of points (bad habit of mine). First off, why would Midoriya assume that Todoroki would be familiar with the Hero's Cemetery when Iida isn't? It's not like Endeavor is dead yet and little has ever been said regarding either Enji or Rei's families, and while Shoto admitted he was aware of the cemetery's existence due to a few of his father's sidekicks Todoroki seems to maintain a degree of separation between his professional and family lives). Second, why would Aizawa be refer to Present Mic or Midnight by their first names, rather than as Yamada and Kayama? I can see him addressing them as Hizashi and Nemuri in private (especially when she approaches him as he is praying - which is obviously a very personal moment for him), but not in front of the students.
Guest chapter 2 . 11/16/2018
Why does this have no reviews? This is great! I can respect it when someone goes out of their way to research and share they're world-building ideas. It's tough work, I should know. Especially the times when...well I suppose you know, or maybe not. But thanks for writing, I'll read the next few chapters for sure. Or at least we'll see, depending on how it goes. But the idea is nice, with the graveyard
