Great chapter. In regards to the patreon/payment question at the top. I donate to only one author here and he only offers previews as a reward so you could do something like that. Or if you wanted to take advantage of those people offering money for you to update certain stories you could include a higher tier that has that as a reward ($20-50 would be best in my opinion) but, make it clear you only agree to work on them more and post progress on the chapter probably through small previews or clips from the chapter. Never say you will absolutely have something done by a certain time it gives them too much power over you.

I think you could make a wonderful Penny crossover (from RWBY) in becom human.

Now about what was said in the author's notes:
1) I don't think you should dedicate yourself only to writing, it is a job with a pay with many ups and downs. On the other hand, if you should open a Patreon but to support you in general, not to decide which story you should update
2) About Tod I think the punishment was execive, I know about a father who uses drugs and believe me they are usually the softest inside.

I'm not sure how I should respond to this, i had all but given up on seeing this updated. Along with a LOT of your older fics. I love the chapter, sure, but it's like watching someone close to you come back home after so long apart. Then the possibility exists that they'll leave again.

That numbed feeling of acceptance of the inevitable. Neon, your one of my favorite authors but your update schedule is impossible to keep up with. It makes it so hard to trust old favorites won't just be left out to try like this one bad been for years.

Moving on from that, take the request... neon, do you realize what you have the option for? You could be PAID to do the thing you LOVE. How many people could say the same? I would literally give my left arm, left eye and a kidney to find a job I loved doing.

Set some ground rules for your supporters, let them know that their contribution is appreciated, but don't fall under the sway of others who pay you to update a certain fic. Make no compromise with anyone, that's a good way to sell out. A really good first step to hating your 'job' keep it the way it is but accept donations.

Life is short but full of opportunities. I feel that if you missed this one you would regret it. Inevitably there will be days where you don't make much, but i have a feeling you'll make it through, your a fighter. One of the strongest I've seen. Don't let anyone push you around if you do decide to get a Patreon account. I know you'll love it.
