Granted, the Rapid Recovery Perk might be on by this point (and/or he has the Second Heart Gene mod, and no one felt any importance towards telling Isara about the MELD substance beforehand), not to mention that he has Carapace Armor, so his survivability isn't really out of place.

And leave it to the Tank Girl to be an engineer. Because everyone loves grenades in Long War.

It seems that Isera is coping pretty well, despite being temporary displaced to another dimension. I will admit that I don’t usually see an overview of the host organization’s capabilities that quick in a fanfic...then again, since she’s gonna be fighting with XCOM, even during the Long War, she might as well know what’s where.

So May in Long War...according to the research I’ve found, tends to be where Mutons make an appearance...and there’s 30 dead already?

Question, might have skimmed over it, but does she have a Ragnaid or any Ragnite on her? Knowing Xcom they would love to research a pocket sized first-aid kit for EVERY soldier.

Ok, for a crossover that involves one person joining up another faction to fight with them...this chapter isn’t bad. It establishes what XCOM goes through (as well as a hint of what happens behind the scenes). Even though Isera (sic) came from a time period analogous to fantasy WWII, and should logically be confused at some of the newer advances in modern tech, I’m willing to chalk it up to “I’m still trying to wrap my head around this now.”

Oh, and since this is Long War, I hope you take the game mechanics into account (fatigue, added will loss over time, Beeglerush-proof Aliens, etc), and not simply go with what is in by default...or at least state offhandedly that there’s a fatality or two every other mission.

You wouldn’t believe the amount of XCOM fanfics that ignore the “Early Game Hell” thing...actually, considering lasers and carapace have been shown, I’m wondering what’s next: EXALT, the Elders, or both (a thing in Long War apparently).

...I think I’m actually looking forward to how this turns out. Remember, we will be watching.

Wow, never thought I needed this crossover. But damn was I wrong. This was well written and the culture shock, and subsequently Isara’s realization of her death, is believable. Keep up the great work.

You know, after what happened with the First Order in RWBY (Motion Sensors? Bio foam? We’re they supposed to be Stormtroopers or Spartans? If you wanted Spartans, just write Spartans), I was under the impression that most of the fics were intended as B-movie style fanfics, and that’s fine. So long as you didn’t screw up continuities, I was willing to let bygones be bygones.

So imagine my suprise when there’s another VC crossover...and they’re completely unprepared AND thrown into XCOM, the sacrificial later to the RNG Goddess. It was a welcome suprise.
