- Yeah obviously they were both naughty kids at Darkley's but in a way this seems like an homage to a simpler time. All little boys have a part of them that's like that. And now Lloyd has the weight of the world on his shoulders, and his childhood was cut so short, all he can do is look back on the times that weren't really good, now that he knows better, but at the same time they WERE because there was always a bright side and things were simple and it was all he had...

This is beautiful! Gosh, I totally agree with Lloyd about the wind being the best part of fall (the description you put of it is absolutely gorgeous, too! I could practically feel it!). I love your descriptive language in general, too. You really know how to put a reader in the moment! :D

The friendship parts were also adorable. I never knew that a Brad and Lloyd fic was something I needed.

Okay so. Its actually cute, and it’s about Lloyd and Brad, I can do that. And by do that I mean WEEP, because there’s pretty much nothing about Lloyd and Brad, and here you come to deliver quality fluff slash the angst that always comes from Darkley’s, BLESS!

Goshhhhh you write their little kid interactions so /well/, all their bratty little antics peppered with the abnormal Darkley’s stuff that they all think is normal, gah, it’s so good?
(I have. So many feelings about the Darkley’s kids, this school where baby kids are all treated terribly by the teachers and each other and think its /normal/, and this is a fluffy fic but it’s also hinting at that BUT we also get to see them having fun for once so I! Am crying!)

Lloyd I am all with you on liking the fall, you hit everything that’s good about it on the head. And “eviler colors like orange and red” afsdkjlg
Okay you know what that entire passage there is great, “boring old shades of green” but “green was Lloyd’s second-favorite color, after black, but green leaves just felt /dumb/

Okay wow, wow wow wow, I’ve been writing a snippet in Raising Hell about Lloyd liking storms for haha irony, but you WENT FOR THE KILL WITH LLOYD LOVING THE WIND, HEY. NO, STOP. Like that bit was so darn cute and just /Lloyd-like/, with the paper airplanes and imagining real pilots and the spit balls, and it was so nice and fun until you remember that Morro probably takes everything he loves about the wind and turns it into a nightmare for him so THANKS FOR THAT :’)

Just - everything about this. The feeling of Fall that it evokes, reminding me how much I LOVE this season with the imagery. Lloyd and Brad’s interactions ESPECIALLY, they are so! Good! Gosh this makes me wish we could see Brad again on the show.

But OH it’s the last sentence that kills me, the “years later that a boy with blond hair and a green scarf blowing in the wind would return…and realize just how little both boys had really been”. I can just SEE that scene crystal clear and it HURTS, YOU KNOW. IN A GOOD MELANCHOLIC SORT OF WAY, BECAUSE I /KNOW/ THAT FEELING.
Anyways! This was stellar, gorgeous, I’m-totally-not-biased-because-you-wrote-about-Lloyd-but-this-was-a-fave, I loved it, and I’m going to re-read it at least six more times after this.

(also Lloyd drinks pumpkin spice lattes, i’m taking that away from this)

I really love how this even sounds like it's from the point of view of a little kid! (Like, I'm having mega-flashbacks to when me and my little brother were in elementary school together, esp with the million little races and arguments about who won, it's just so PERF AHHHH) And, I REALLY love that one paragraph about Lloyd and the wind, I just 0 It fits so well!

And there's just a lot of really nice touches throughout, like the little hints about the boys being bad and going to Darkleys (like I legit forgot that it was a school for teaching kids to be bad, it's been so long since I've watched the show X0) and just with the boys being boys! And again, the entire fall aesthetic is perfect, oh my gosh
