Oh, right. They both have blunt swords but only Yato suffers for their pain. So unfair.
At first I didn't knew if I was more sad for Yukine, or for Yato. Weirdly enough, Yukime is the one that seems to be in less pain (in my opinion, that's it).
Then the psycho draws the "you're hurting your shinki" card and I know: Yato has it worst than anybody there.
...
Except that there was another Yato there, and: he has it worst! Poor guy!

Wow! He's so scared of lightning that he forgets he's afraid of Yato (and angry). Nice one. Another reason to know that there have a bond.

Then, the big surprise. The idea crossed my mind, yeah. After all, he does possess people. But I hadn't even considered that it was Yato who has sent him away, trying to put him away of that psycho. I don't get it, why didn't he release him? Or the idea of doing that is just in this moment, and he hoped that Yato would take care of him?
It's cool how they have the other's shinki. But they would have to work a lot, because we know that Yukine gets all blunt when he doesn't want to hurt the opponent, and I guess that will be the same for both of them now.

Yukine is jealous n_n Uh, better not telling him how sharp is this other kid, OK? (I thought he would be less eager to get rid of him once he knew about his traumas).

About the memories (two in a day! Man, give the kid some privacy!), I'm as horrified as Yato is. So, no doubt he's really bad now, but it's also obvious that it hasn't always been like that. So, did something awful happened to him? Or is it something else? There are some different things in that world, so there is a lot of possibilities... I have two favorite theories but no evidence to support any of them XD

Of course the kid ran away. I was expecting him to do it as soon as he lost the scarf. I hope he doesn't find too much trouble out there.

Uh... Okay. So, the problem is Yato, or Yato has a really weird problem. And Yukime pays the price somehow.
However, now it's obvious that, even if Yukime fears him, there was a good relationship at some point. Maybe easier because Yukime is a little older and maybe more mature. Maybe Yukime is just being really nice because this job makes him nostalgic.

I have a crazy theory... actually it would be really cool if it was true... but I don't want to jump to conclusions.

They are weird. They would push the ladder and cause bruises for the smallest of things (or because of interrupted naps) but they panic as soon as something else it's a little dangerous for the other.

So many questions! The whole travel thing is a bunch of questions. But even more important: with all those panic and the way Yukime felt so bad when they asked about his master... Are you implying that this other Yato is still in the wrong path? Because you said Yukime give him the look he use to get when he used to kill people...
Ok. Maybe I should have guessed that one from the synopsis, but... IDK, I was expecting something completely different. A different master, maybe (well, actually when I read the synopsis I kind of though Yato would ended up discovering that he was still alive or something, and I thought that local Yukine wouldn't be in the fic. I had my doubts to open it, but I can't say 'no' to an Alternate reality story).
It's better than my expectations, so, I'll come back soon to read the rest.

hhhhhhhHHHHHHHOH WHAT A TWIST

I have to say, this was really amazing.
I want to scream about how happy I am everything worked out, but I also want to tell you what a good piece this is! The plot was complex (not in a bad way) and the different universe was done super well. I loved all of the different touches. I didn’t even make the connection between the alternate vents being red because of Other Kofuku’s hair until the very end. I wouldn’t mind more content written about that universe. I think what made it great was that you kept everyone in character so well, even if they were “alternate” versions, they still felt like their counterparts. I think I can summarize all my feelings as: you pulled it off perfectly.
I love the family dynamic, and it was nice to see from Yato’s point of view how he cares for his kid(s). Even though it was short, I also loved how Hiyori seems like a big sister. Though she was a minor character, her reactions were on point. I love how she punched Yato, lol.
You are hands down become my favorite noragami author! I can’t wait to see what you create next (but also please focus on school :p)
