Reviews for Greenwood The Great (The Woodland Realm - Book One)
realSkyEyes chapter 1 . 5/25
Please don't abandon this gem! This is one of the best Tolkien fics, your characterization of Thranduil and Oropher are so great. Good fanfictions of this time in middle earth are so rare, please, please continue.
ElvenMaia chapter 6 . 9/30/2019
It's been almost a year but PLEASE don't abandon this story! Wonderful characterization and everything fits in beautifully with the time line. This is the only fanfic, really, that I have read so far that puts enough weight (in my opinion) on Thranduil'spstd". This is also one of the very few fanfics that have good chemistry between Thranduil and his future wife as in this case. Love how Lalaith ships them too xD very well done, praying this isn't abandoned
Silver-crowned Valkyrie chapter 6 . 1/15/2019
Both parts of the chapter were nicely done. The council meeting served well to portray Oropher's personality. I like how he is strong and stern but just. And then we have his wife, so contradictory to him, all sweet and lovely, thoughtful and even a little playful. I do hope her intervening in the blossoming affair will be for the better and not cause unnecessary trouble!
I'd love to read more of this. I understand the pressure of real life, I myself feel it very keenly, but I'd be grateful for an update!
Silver-crowned Valkyrie chapter 5 . 1/15/2019
Guess what! I'm back and reviewing!
And I'm so sorry I was late to read the updates. It was a great chapter, especially the description of Thranduil's ptsd. I found it quite realistic. And I was also pleasantly surprised by your choice of using Smaug as Thranduil's cause of the burns. It was a smart choice!
On to the next chapter now!
mystarlight chapter 6 . 11/9/2018
The council meeting was really well written. I am looking forward to update thank you!
mystarlight chapter 5 . 10/15/2018
I am happy you added dragons to your story. Breathtaking conversation between Thranduil and Smaug. Can't wait for more of Ancalagon :)
mystarlight chapter 4 . 10/15/2018

FramedCuriosity chapter 5 . 10/14/2018
It’s seems I’ve fallen behind in reviewing! Goodness! Well I’ve really enjoyed the last couple of chapters! You’re action was great, in my opinion, it’s quite hard to write action scenes and have that come across as they were intended, but you did it quite well. And yay, Elrond has made an appearance! I was hoping he would. Also, I feel the fact that you gave Thranduil PTSD is quite realistic. I mean after such an experience it’d be surprising if he didn’t, especially considering elvish memory. Anyway, I’ll leave it at that and just say that I’m excited to see where this story is going!
Silver-crowned Valkyrie chapter 4 . 10/11/2018
So happy to see such a swift update!
Wonderful chapter by all means! I liked Thranduil's blossoming romance with Alarielle. Their nervousness is so sweet and touching, and it shows us that even royalty are simple elves after all, and victims to the same basic feelings as everyone else.
Another point I admired was the differences you described among the Noldor, the Sindar and the Silvan. You've studied your sources well my friend!
And I also liked that you touched upon the theme of death, which we have previously spoken of. I'd like to see more insightful writing like this, where the characters turn to inner thoughts and philosophy a bit, apart from speaking about the current events of their lives.
And thanks for the special mention! I'll be waiting for the next installment!
mystarlight chapter 1 . 10/11/2018
I really enjoy your story thank you for writing and sharing
Guest chapter 4 . 10/9/2018
oh, it is a fantastic story, I love Thranduil, he is so magnificent, strong and a good king, and now we can see, how he become this great royal person. I only hope, that you will continue your another story too, the Trials is so an exciting story too!
Silver-crowned Valkyrie chapter 3 . 10/5/2018
What a lovely chapter! I enjoyed Thranduil's interaction with Galion, the little elleth as well as Thingol in the memory part. The way you write him makes him believable. He may be young and have not suffered pain and loss yet, and he may be kinder, more tender, gentler in his ways, but he's still the Thranduil we already know. The basic components of his character are there - the regal manner, the air of superiority, the valor, the prowess in battle.
I really like your way of writing, and I must say once more that I appreciate how carefully written and how much detailed this story is.
I will be eagerly awaiting the update!
FramedCuriosity chapter 3 . 10/4/2018
This was great! You really write Thranduil well, and his interaction with the child was really sweet. Also young Thranduil is adorable! I’m excited to see where this is all going!
