The FEELZ! Seriously, my heart goes out to Quark and Grilka. This was a good story and I am glad I know they have another little one which actually helped. Because otherwise I'd have drowned under the Wave of Feels that this story brings. I have now read everyone of your Quark/Grilka stories and honestly I am sad because only a tiny few write anything to do with Quark.

The weirdest thing is? This works so well I wish it had been in the show. It's beautiful and weird and tragic and a little funny... All the things that made DS9 so great. Wonderful work.

I like how you intertwined the heart wrenching moments with some humor. It works really well. I think you've done Quark justice here. He's still himself, but you've brought out his love for his family. (Even tho he would deny he even has such a thing.)

This was a sweet story. For all his obvious faults, Quark still cares about his family. He didn't even hold it against Rom for trying to assassinate him.

It was touching to see him get his son into the Divine Treasury, hopefully to purchase a new life and be born again.

All in all, this was a good little story.

Your story is an interesting mixture, like Quark and Grilka themselves. It's so funny and so moving at the same time. It shouldn't work, but it does.
The image of the Klingon guards wearing flashy Ferengi-style outfits because they "would not dishonour [Quark's] customs" was hilarious, and the concept of a "Rite of Inveigling" is so perfectly Ferengi. I never thought of what their religion would do about the souls of children who didn't get the chance to earn their own latinum, but this makes sense. And I absolutely love the idea that Ferengi women have their own secret culture, and that Grilka would be open-minded enough to appreciate it.
The understated sadness of Quark putting the baby's disc next to his father's was the perfect ending. This is going on my favourites list.
