Reviews for The Greatest Starfighter Pilot in the Galaxy
Paul Lenzen chapter 59 . 4/29/2019
Oh damn this is good.
Ericdragon chapter 59 . 3/19/2019
Is that...the end?
BenRG chapter 59 . 3/19/2019
Well, that was a sudden ending but, in some ways, it was also the way it had to end. With Palpatine in the ascendant and the Jedi scattered and powerless, how could things go any way than in the direction he'd been doubtless plotting for some time? With Padme broken and vilified, there was literally nothing to stop his ascent until it was too late and the various races realised that they had given their loyalty to a monster far worse than the Warlord could ever have been.

Dala, I notice, vanishes from the story. Did she ultimately end up at Vader's side (which I consider highly likely - even as a monster, she still loved him) or did she go to Mandelore to be with the people that had adopted her?

How you ended the Anakin-to-Vader story is interesting as it creates a second meeting to Vader's "There is a presence here" comment and the way it was suddenly cut off in ANH. Could this have been the actual beginning of the return of Anakin Skkywalker, suddenly remembering the Force touch of his mentor and friend?
BenRG chapter 58 . 3/19/2019
I'm guessing that, with Furia dead, Padme's normal personality reasserted itself. However, I do find myself wondering how many good people in the former Repuiblic were corrupted and controlled by Palpatine in the same way. Unfortunately, things had long since gone too far and Anakin had always been more vulnerable to the lead of the Dark Side than Padme.
Guest chapter 2 . 3/14/2019
Hey person! I don’t know how many reviews you have, but no matter the number, it should be more. I read the first chapter, and I’m about midway through the second, and I can already tell I’m going to absolutely love it. Most fan fictions I read I can barely get past the first paragraph, but this one keeps making me want more and more already! The writing is so unbelievably good, honestly better than any fan fiction I’ve ever read. And if this wasn’t fan fiction and you had the rights, I guarantee it could be among the elite of published works as well. Can’t wait to read it all and review once I have finished. Thank you for this
BenRG chapter 57 . 3/14/2019
The Dark Side, it seems was always strong in the Skywalker twins' family. It's just that it wasn't on their father's side.

Naturally, I should have expected Parlous to have had betraying both the Commonwealth AND the Republic as part of her agenda. Nonetheless, her snuffing out the Republic's joint chiefs of staff was still a shock. I wonder how well she personally knew Queen Artura? How long has she been looking to bring back the person who actually came as close to being a friend that a Sith can have?

The Dark Side is now in full control of all matters. All that remains to be seen is how Sideous will defeat his rival and create his Empire.
BenRG chapter 56 . 3/12/2019
The Sith are getting their hooks into the Confederacy leadership, I see. Anakin is trying to follow the leading of the Light - to fight the RIGHT enemy and make peace where you can. However, I suspect that Furia has too much power over Padme. If she were dead, things would be different. However, with Sideous clearly about to make his move on Anakin, I have a horrible feeling that the Republic and the Confederacy are about to become pawns being used by Sideous and Parlous's factions of the Sith in their own struggle for supremacy.
BenRG chapter 55 . 2/22/2019
Thus ends the Battle of Marrias, the first Great Battle of the Clone Wars and the struggle that, IMO, set the sides - The Jedi and Mandelorians on the side of the Confederacy and Parlous's faction of the Sith now openly on the side of the Republic.

I also think that this is not unlike an arc in the Clone Wars TV show, right down to the Obi-Wan/Anakin byplay and Anakin's approach to strategy and tactics.
BenRG chapter 54 . 2/18/2019
Yeah, as Parleous said, a Xanatos Gambit - A strategy by where every possible outcome is your victory, even if it's a pyhrric one.

I also suspect that Furia is correct: There is a touch of Sith in Padme. Because she was raised on a planet contaminated by the Dark Side, darker impulses will always reign and slowly corrupt every endeavour in some way. It's so much easier to be savage and destructive when your foes give you a good and righteous reason to be so.
BenRG chapter 53 . 2/18/2019
This was a lovely chapter. I really enjoyed your portrayal of Yoda - He is wise and kind, as he is always shown in the canon.

I think that we have long since passed the point of no return with the war. Furia will keep pushing things until she dies, run through either by Anakin or Gawaon. If it is the latter, I'm sure it will destroy him as effectively as being shot dead. By then, of course, it will not matter.
