A very nice look at what Marie might have been like when she and Del were together. Del seems very much like we know him too, unable to stop talking, but we can't help loving him anyway. Nice touch throwing in references to the rest of John Candy's career and the extended "Hughesiverse" as well.

This is heartbreaking, in a good way. What a wonderful story. It fits so well with the movie that I can see it being a flashback!

What a great film (and fan story)! I was always curious as to how Marie's character would've been, had we seen in a flashback on-screen.

This story seems to capture a lovely picture of her; how she tries to stay strong for Del's sake, despite her being scared of her own predicament and how Del will hold up after.

You really seem to know all the characters from the films you've written fan stories for. You have quite a knack for writing. :)

Love John Candy but have never seen this one-I'm always reluctant to watch an "opposites repel" story and at the time it came out I hadn't yet learned to appreciate Steve Martin (I do now).

But I'm familiar with the plot & characters and I"d say this was pretty darn good bit of missing history. Plus I love the description of how Marie listens to him unlocking/dropping key/etc to get in the place.
