I forgot to mention this: but for OCs, try thinking of how they do it in the Pokémon movies. In the movies, they introduce a villain, which will only really have a meaningful significance for the duration of the movie. However sometimes movies like to introduce temporary protagonists to assist Ash and co in either defeating the villain or solving a general crisis. Take Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life and Pokémon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages as prime examples of this. They both have characters that only appeal for the duration of the movie, until the problem is solved, and then they leave. That’s how you properly do an OC in these types of stories or genres.

I’m just going to give my honest opinion here, it’s not meant to be offensive but I want to share my thoughts.

The addition of an original character that’s just way too overpowered just completely ruined the story for me. Original characters in general typically ruin these types of stories, especially ones that alter canon characters. If it were a new region, it would make sense to add original characters, but this was unnecessary and would’ve meant more if it were someone we were familiar with.

Second complaint, Ash gets completely destroyed. No offense, but do you know how strong Ash is? Pikachu should be a god by now, considering his experience, and it seems as though you’ve kept most of xy Ash so he’s plenty competent to make viable strategies to win. Charizard has been training at the valley for forever, and should’ve easily wiped any opponent away. Sceptile shares a similar case albeit not as strong as Charizard and Pikachu he shouldn’t have been beaten so easily.

I’m not feeling this story, sorry. It would’ve been better if there were no OCs and Ash wasn’t set up to just suddenly be weak after kicking so much ass in Kalos and having some of his strongest Pokémon be downgraded to almost nothing.

My advice, get rid of the OCs, they aren’t necessarily in situations like these. There are instances where you can use them, such as creating a new antagonist along with a temporary protagonist to join Ash for a bit while they deal with the antagonist. They shouldn’t be like this Ken person. They shouldn’t be added to the group right off the bat, or even stick around permanently. It ruins the story for a lot of people, not just me- and I’ll be honest, OCs like Ken make it seem a lot like a self insert, which soooo many people loath.

I hope you at least consider what I’ve said here and make the necessary adjustments. Have a good day, good luck.

There's actually 20 chapters not 18 and awesome chapter two hopefully sooner rather than later ash and Mewtwo cross paths again I would love to see that reunion especially what ash did for Mewtwo during their time in new island where they met in Mewtwo strikes back and second encounter where they met up again at Mt quena in johto in Mewtwo returns I know ash will be surprised and excited to see Mewtwo again and maybe explain to Lille how he knows Mewtwo and his experiences with him

I think Max should’ve had Infernape in Side Chapter 2. Who knows where that would’ve ended up. Also, next side chapter should be about Gary finding Butterfree with Ambipom following him around.

So 3 of Ash strongest pokemons that defeated Legendaries got defeated just like that? BRUH such disrespect makes sense why Ash was betrayed.
