Reviews for Blank Slate
the classicist chapter 25 . 6/21
What a great mix of joy and hope in their new marriage, and Edith getting Anthony to see that she truly does want to be his wife, with all that that entails. I think she'll have to do a lot of reinforcing of that message before he becomes fully trusting of that, though. Hoping you are well and safe too.
Guest chapter 25 . 6/20
Anthony: on a rollercoaster ride. So fragile. The mix of memories that need to be sorted through. Partial memories mixed with anxiety? Memories jumbled and over-riden with fear? Seems he has a long road ahead or will something trigger a switch that will allow him to more easily sort them out?

Meanwhile, Edith is no longer the young, naive pre-war girl. A much more emotionally mature woman despite her young appearance. But she needs to be ready to do a LOT of emotional reinforcement with Anthony.

Stay safe during our "new normal"!
RL74 chapter 25 . 6/20
Fantastic stuff, thank you Lady S!
Thank heavens for Edith. She really is showing her strength of character in wanting to be a real partner in their marriage.
Hopefully her calm, clear and logical thinking will help Anthony along the road to recovery.
Onwards to Dr Rivers!
I hope you and yours are staying safe and well in these uncertain circumstances.
Baron Munchausen chapter 24 . 6/17
I think you described this scene in their lives together with the utmost decorum and feeling. Although we expected Anthony to react with trepidation to the idea of babies, it was charming to see Edith's eagerness. I'm sure Anthony will come round to the idea eventually!
weeredfrenchie chapter 24 . 6/2
I don’t see how you could improve on this, Lady S. The perfect mix of sweet and sensual with a little dash of naivety for good measure!
So, onwards to Dr Rivers and the road to recovery, Anthony has a family to make!
Thank you for this, Lady S. I hope you’re staying safe and well through all of this insanity.
the classicist chapter 24 . 6/2
Awww, this was lovely! So sensual and so sweet at the same time. I loved Edith's peach lingerie in the movie and I'm delighted to hear you have a movie 'fix-it' in the works. I was really disappointed that she seemed so sad and caged by her life with Bertie, and that when it came down to it, he wouldn't fight for her when she needed him. Cora had to fix it all for them. Doesn't bode well for prolonged marital bliss, I wouldn't have thought.
Guest chapter 24 . 6/2
Seductive but also a little naive Edith! Hope her "having lots of babies" doesn't spook Anthony!
Get to Dr Rivers Pronto! And start working on the rehab!
RL74 chapter 24 . 6/2
This was brilliant. You handled the wedding night perfectly. We are left in no doubt of the passion they felt for each other but it was so sensitively done.
Thank you, Lady S. I hope you and yours are staying safe and well.
Baron Munchausen chapter 23 . 5/20
I love it! You go girl! Get that man to Scotland and get him wed before anything makes him doubt it again! Does it make my an old letch that I was slightly disappointed that you ended there?!
Guest chapter 23 . 5/19
Excellent! Mission accomplished! Married and now Honeymoon! BUT then the serious stuff - Anthony's treatment. Thank you!
RL74 chapter 23 . 5/19
Yay! They made it! Thank you so much, Lady S!
As far as I’m concerned, the mix of dialogues worked absolutely perfectly. You have no worries on that one.
I could never find your writing boring or repetitive so please, please do continue.
I hope you and yours are all doing well. Strange times for us all.
the classicist chapter 22 . 5/12
Oh, this was delightful! And they're so very close to being married. Let's hope Anthony's sense of honour can stay buried until after the ceremony...!
operamary chapter 22 . 5/12
I am so happy to see an update on this story. I’m really enjoying it. I’m not a writer, but I sincerely hope our Andith community doesn’t dwindle out. I wish I could pay all you wonderful writers back in kind! I taught high school science and math, so if you need help with anatomy or geometry or something... I’m your gal!
Guest chapter 22 . 5/11
'...wouldn't he be even more pathetic if he were to turn her away out of some self-centered sense of honour?...'

Yes, pathetic is the word. Too bad you weren't there to give canon Anthony some well-needed advice. And a kick in the a$$ for his cowardice.
Baron Munchausen chapter 22 . 5/12
Anthony's musings about honour were particularly poignant. But otherwise this was one long joy! Thank you.

I'll see your chapter, and I'll try to raise you a chapter...
