So I swear I read this on A03 but I wanted to reread it so much I had to go looking for it till I found it again.

I don't want to sound ignorant (I can be one, I don't know), but it always irritated me that people with black skin call those with white skin White or other nicknames and think it's not racist. Because racism is not a one-way street. I am for equal rights for everyone: regardless of skin color, religion, sexuality, etc. But Eric rejecting Hariel just because of her skin is just as racist as white people who look down on black people.

I was praying Sirius wouldn’t die, but that’s what pushes Harrie over the edge, isn’t it? I love how you’re writing Erik; I’ve never read a fanfic where he’s the MC before, but all that suppressed rage I saw in the movie is here and it’s perfect.

Goddamnit, it's 6 hecking 50 in the morning. Why is your writing so good.

Wow, I was enthralled by this fic from the first paragraph. It portrayed a tough and gritty world, and really dug into a lot of tough and complex issues. Racism, isolationism, equality, humanity. It was really the characters that made it incredible, though. Eric is tough, jaded and determined, but he has a soft side that only comes into play where Harrie is involved. he doesn't want attachment, but she burrows her way through his defenses and into his soul. Harrie is soft and vulnerable when she meets Eric, but his words and attitude made her grow until she becomes as tough as he is. She is however free of prejudice, seeing humanity as equal, and her attitudes color Eric's life. Nothing comes easy as they live difficult lives. The ending is shocking and somehow perfect. I loved reading this story, it made me think and it'll stay with me for a long time.
