Oh My God,,, sapphic Artemis x Aphrodite (Diana x Venus) is the pairing I never knew I needed. The fact that they're married and Piper and Silena and Drew view Diana as their mom is the cutest thing ever. I love that a lot! Okay, but seriously, no joke, when I got the email notification saying you updated, I was so excited that I started jumping up and down like I was on a trampoline and ACTUALLY had to stop myself from screaming because THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PERCABETH STORIES EVER AND ADGGFSFGYRV !

*takes another deep breath to calm myself, because apparently the first breath didn’t work*

First off: THANK YOU for both writing and publishing this chapter. I literally cannot say that enough. THANK YOU.

I loved every part of it: the theme of “he deserves a good day” that ties back into the last Annabeth chapter; the emotional scene between Piper and Percy (percy&piper friendship is one of my favorite things in PJO fanfics, those two are platonic soulmates, in my opinion); Percy’s emotions and fear throughout the chapter, which, although heartbreaking to read, was masterfully written; and the way it ends with the phone call with Stella (!).

Basically, it was a piece of artwork and you are a literal writing goddess sfhhfdgyb.

Some of my favorite lines~~~

“Her voice grabs at the goosebumps on his arms the moment he catches sight of his friends.”

~I LOVE this sentence; there’s something so wonderful about the phrase “grabs at the goosebumps on his arms”—it’s fresh, unique, and the alliteration is GOLDEN.

“Annabeth's spine-tingling pale eyes scatter to the forefront of his thoughts once more, eliciting the reappearance of his goosebumps.”

~Ooh, this is another wonderful line. “spine-tingling pale eyes” is SUCH a good description, and the word choice of “scatter” just makes the entire sentence SING.

“Beck chuckles airily before fishing out a familiar-looking candy wrapper that's the same shade as Valentine's day.”

~Okay, so I LOVE the way you describe the color of the wrapper as the “same shade of Valentine’s Day”; I can totally picture the color of the wrapper. Like, to be able to write something and make your readers know exactly what hue you’re talking about without even NAMING the color—that is IMPRESSIVE.

“He can't bear to think about what her face looks like. Guilt thrums in all his pores, oozing from his fingertips like vapor.”

~My heart is aching for Percy. ACHING. Also, I just want to say that I love that last sentence, it’s such a good metaphor asdfghfd.

“Piper's movement catches him off guard. Her hand moves to sling around the back of his neck, and he finds himself being tugged forward. She presses his forehead to her shoulder and wraps her other arm loosely around his waist, caging him in a hug.

"Stop running." Her words are mumbled into his neck.

He stiffens for a moment before slowly returning the embrace, the threat of tears stinging his eyes. Percy bites his lip while digging his face further into her shoulder. "I'm sorry, Pipes." You don't deserve this. "I really am." I know I'm a disappointment. "For everything."”

~*reads this paragraph*

*blinks twice*

*proceeds to burst into giant, ugly sobs*

Okay okay okay, so this chunk is a very emotional scene, and you write it BEAUTIFULLY. I’m not kidding when I say I actually teared up reading it. Everything is just so poignant and heart-wrenching, it just stabbed me in the heart and lodged there. ESPECIALLY the way you write the hug—the way it catches Percy off-guard, along with the phrase “caging him in a hug” (caging is such a good word choice here. I think it’s because Percy has spent this entire scene trying to avoid letting Piper see his emotions, so it makes sense that the hug would make him, at least at first, feel trapped). It’s just such a powerful paragraph.

And THEN the way Percy just gives into the hug—the way he leans into Piper, buries his face in her shoulder, and the apology and the italicized thoughts—

I’m sorry, I know I’m rambling on here, but it’s such a powerful, sad scene, and I’m actually crying as I write this, and I can’t convey just how much I’m in awe of it, and—

Yeah. I can’t really explain it. It’s just so beautifully sad, and I can’t stop thinking about it.

“Percy only laughs in response. He smiles a little to himself as he watches his friend greet Hazel, who smiles up at him shyly, clasping her hands in front of her as she rocks on the balls of her feet. The height difference alone is enough to give him cavities.”

~AHHH THIS PARAGRAPH IS SO CUTE! The description of Hazel clasping her hands and rocking on the balls of her feet is ADORABLE, and it paints the scene of sweet, shy love between her and Frank MAGNIFICENTLY.

Okay, I’m so sorry, there are so many other lines I want to comment on, but I’m gonna stop here because I JUST SAW THAT YOU UPDATED WITH A NEW CHAPTER—OH MY GODS THANK YOU—so I’m gonna stop here asdfghfd.

Omg yay! Your back and hopefully doing well! I seriously can’t believe your back! I was holding on to hope but typically after 11 months the out look isn’t good. Thankfully this wasn’t one of those times!
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had a bad year but I really hope that you decide to finish this fic but of course you’re well-being comes first!

I really enjoyed the update and am very exited to see what happens next! I had to go back and reread the whole thing for a refreasher but i have to say you’re killing me with how close they get to opening up and then stopping like it seriously hurts to see my babies in pain! But don’t stop because itS really well written!

ahh estelle! i've literally been wondering what happened to tyson and estelle since percy mentioned them in chapter 8 and oh my gosh big brother percy! is so sweet! and the emotion throughout this chapter, with the repetition of "he deserves a good day" (the use of repetition throughout this whole work is amazing, honestly)! also so good!
the tension in the phone call with Nico and in the conversation with piper! the way you get inside percy's head and the self-doubt and conflicting, overwhelming emotions there is incredible.
it is great to hear that you are doing better now and that you have a great support system by your side! take the time you need to take care of yourself 3

Of all the Percy Jackson fanfictions I’ve read in the last few years, this one is definitely my favorite - you’ve got serious talent and I’m happy to hear that your feeling better now. The announcement of the TV show felt huge for me too, at a point where nothing felt appealing anymore the announcement got me feeling hopeful for the first time in a while. I’ll leave another review about what I would like to see in the future but first I’m going to reread your fanfiction because it’s been a second :). Again I love your work and incredible happy to hear you’re feeling better and if your ever need an anonymous shoulder to cry on or rant to, this 17 year old girl from Arizona is here for you.
