I thoroughly enjoyed this tale. Sweet and light, and the characters so very well written.

Oh I knew it was him! I started doubting at the beginning of the chapter, and Gimli unknowingly calling him laddie made me smile. His reaction when he felt Gimli was ordering him, too good. I liked the way Gimli was seeing him young, and then at times he saw some formidable traits in him.
And it was really him. I loved the way you showed the caring father, and their touching reunion.

A very interesting and unexpected encounter. I like very much the way you describe the elf. The beginning of this story is so very well written.
I expected another reaction when Gimli told him about Legolas. I wonder who this elf is.

So sweet! I really enjoyed reading this story. What a perfect way for Gimli and Thranduil to meet. It fit well as a prequel of sorts to another fan fiction i read called The Manners of a Dwarf by the Yuggster. (In that one Gimli takes Legolas to his home) The relationship between Thranduil and his son was beautifully betrayed. Your descriptions are some of the best that I have read in fanfiction. What a sweet fun story! I loved getting to see the 3 interact. I loved the little detail that they left Thranduil’s cloak for another to find who would want it more. This is a delightful and wonderful read.

Ah! So the mysterious elf is Thranduil! I began to suspect that as I progressed through the chapter. You have a wonderful way with words! This is so much fun to read. I love that the elf is Thranduil and I loved getting to see his reunion with his son.
