Can anyone confirm if this story is finished or has been abandoned?

Oh man, you are killin' it here! Amazing! Why can't we have stuff like this in the show? Probably because they'd still screw it up. But this story is incredible and I can't wait to click next chapter but I just had to let you know how much I love it!
I'm dying about Jonah calling Jack the man that raised Mac. Dying! That is everything.
And all the references to the super serum and Captain America/Winter Soldier have made my entire day.
I was really hoping someone was going to write a really good story about this scenario and I'm so glad that it's you taking it on!

I'm just getting around to this now. And Ohhh, did I love it. How I really wish that once the Show gets back to the Walsh & KX7 story line that it plays out even a small bit like this. I mean, come on, that serum is for soldiers, which one of us didn't immediately think that Walsh should use it on Jack and Mac have to figure out a way to save him?

This was wonderful. Matty being there when Jack woke up, and her words to him, was just what he needed. The two of them have a relationship and chemistry that is so great, they both love their "family" fiercely and will do anything to protect them and their different personalities of going about that compliment each other. Which you showcased so wonderfully in this last chapter.

And that last line? Perfect.

Yeah I'm sure Jack would indeed still tuck Mac in if he was given the chance. :-D
Thanks so much for this last chapter. Loved every scenes, between Mac and Carlos, Matty and Jack, Mac and Jack.
Still haven't watched any episode of season 3, but of what I hear, I guess I will need your stories even more after.

Ya know, when I read the first quote, all I could think of was that scene where Jack was in the war room watching Mac via satellite from so many thousands of miles away, still watching his back, even after he was left behind. How his heart must have been breaking to have been treated like that, after all they'd been through together. And I know Jack's got a huge capacity for forgiveness, but it still had to hurt. A parent's heart gets broken so many times, but for Jack, I think it's worse, because not only does he fill the role of parent, but also best friend and brother. And all of those were left behind when Mac just up and left. He deserved better. And that's why we are so lucky to have writers like you!
Thanks for this last chapter, and for this story, which IMHO should have been what we saw on screen. Your plot was so intricate and made perfect sense-Jack would certainly have done what he did, and Mac would have acted like YOU made his act, not the cardboard character we're getting onscreen this season. I loved how you used Carlos-he's a great character and friend and it was great to see him in the role of an agent. And of course I loved the heart to heart at the end. I will be waiting patiently (well, I'll try...) for the epilogue (because they really need to recooperate at the ranch...I hear Nana Beth's vegetarian chili is to die for and cures all ills...) and any other stories you come up with! Thank you again for sharing your amazing gift of writing with us!

Very good. Would love to read about the Fourth and what happen/Mac decides about his father. Jack is so right you cant pick your blood family. But you can pick how friends can be your family.

I'm not really that surprised by how Cage reacted to her mom's death, though that could just be her hiding how she was really feeling.

While I'm about forgiveness like Nana Beth, I do believe that it is not tied to trust. You can forgive someone, but that doesn't mean you have to trust them ever again, or have them in your life on a day-to-day basis (or at all). I'm still not thrilled with how the show has been handling things regarding James and Mac, especially after the most recent episode even though I can think of reasons why it's being done that way. But I digress...

As always, I love how you handle Mac and Jack's relationship. You can tell they care deeply for each other as family. Your last line reminds me of a quote by Eustache Deschamps I often use: "Friends are relatives you make for yourself.”
