interesting character study!

Love the portion about Jaune.

Kind of has a Nasuverse feel to it.

Fully came here expecting a joke about how Jaune's weapon is a sword that can turn into an even larger sword.
What could be better than a sword and shield combo, which provides versatility in offence and reliability in defence, you may Ask! How about a marginally larger sword, which sacrifices defence and versatility for the sake of slightly larger reach and slower (but admittedly more powerful) attacks! Truly a master piece, that in a way represents Jaune's character - on the surface it looks basic, just the classic sword and shield. Then you realise hey, even without the flashy guns, aka semblances, aka weird personality quirks, and the ability to transform beyond the shield being a little more convenient (supposedly he's not bad at strategy), it's the tried and true method for a reason. Then after volume 3, something/someone is sacrificed and he becomes a bit of a disappointment/unimportant side character, with some minor beneficial qualities no one cares for.

You have perfectly captured the core of the characters' selves and accurately described how each weapon match them and their situations. Interesting that Ruby and Jaune are the only two whose weapons don't describe their characters, just another similarity between them, as well as one each starting and ending this story. Other than both being leaders who are underestimated but have amazing potential.

this is a beautiful piece. I was going crazy for Yang and Jaune's introspection.
