Quite simply, one of the most beautiful short stories I've read on these pages. One cannot help letting out a quite "Yes" as the little owl and her human set-off for their new life together.

Okay I now feel emotionally attached to an owl.
Em, your writing is so eloquent and beautiful. You really create a vivid imagery like nothing I usually read; you can truly imagine yourself in the musty emporium amongst the owls. Your descriptions are fantastic and the prose and dialogue here flow together beautifully.
I admire your ability to include no names either. And you still managed to make Moody so distinctive, so obviously Moody. He was perfect. I liked that the girl you included, that you learnt a lot about her even though she was just an OC picking an owl.
This was honestly sweet. Brilliant job, Em!
