Nice interlude. The character development was spot on, as evidenced through Makoto's interactions with the students. In the game, they barely touch on how she improved, only the Thieves really noticing her changing, but the world doesn't work like that, so I appreciate the realism, even if this is technically fantasy.

Long ago, I was planning to make a Persona 5 story and add some stuff that wasn't in the game. While I was playing the game and reach to the Phantom Thieves was battling Akechi and learning about his 'Call of Chaos', I came up an idea for Joker. But when I first looked at your story and found out about the Song of Harmony... I've learned that you beat me to the punch.

It was one of the idea I was planning to make. I was also thinking of making a new power for Joker that had the same effect to the Song of Harmony. I continue reading this story; it so creative then the ideas that I had.

I'm going to be completely honest with you. Please don't feel weird about it... I envy that you're first to put that idea in your story, but I can't help but smile. ...Smile to see this story. It so amazing, that I want to see it to the end. Please don't stop.

Huh... I honestly thought that Namine would be the one who will name the 'silver light'.

So Namine's Song of Harmony has the power to calm the shadows down, healing, and-correct me if I'm wrongslightly boosted up the target's defense at the cost of decreasing their attack.

And as for Akechi Call of Chaos, it the power to make the shadows berserk at the point of harming themselves, while boosted up the target's attack while decreasing their defense since they are in rage.

Yeah... Those two really have the same powers. Even though the effect has a positive and negative effect.

Nice job. I’m liking how you drop little hints of foreshadowing here and there- like Makoto comparing Kunikazu to Sae, or Yusuke being the one to react to Namine weakening after the Garuda battle. A Garuda could be a very handy Persona in this Palace, with its Amrita Shower skill that cures hunger. It was a nice way to reference Disaster Shadows.

Ryuji comparing the robots to Kamoshida’s slaves is interesting, since “robot” is literally the Czech word for slave. I didn’t know that Ohya’s confidant tied in to Shido and the conspiracy- could be an interesting thing to bring up in his arc.

Bravo! Now that the Phantom Thieves finally dealt with Sugimuar, their problems of dealing Okumura has started to soften up for now.

I would like to say 'Destiny have been altered yet again,' but it's a bit too early to say that. Now the question is: what's going to happen next? And how will Namine/Joker gonna stop the 'black mask culprit' from assassinating Okumura?

Also, brilliant idea of making the incomplete palace in mementos. PLOT TWIST! Not even I would have seen that coming. Great job! Looks like that the Phantom Thieves will encounter his shadow again in the depths of Mementos along with the other palace rulers.

While reading this story, and reaching Akechi's Rank 8th Confidants in P5R, I've been thinking.

If the game adds a female protagonist, then I don't see the protagonist and Akechi as 'rivals' in the female protagonist's story. Nor that I think Akechi would say 'I hate you' in his confidence. Probably say something like 'you're annoying' to the protagonist.

But when I think about even more, call me crazy, but it feel like he would slightly boost up the friendship status to the female protagonist a bit further if I was playing the game. What do you think? What does he see in Namine?

Very nice! And now with one of the antagonists of this arc dealt with, they will have less to worry about. Not to say that daddy dearest isn't still a threat, but at least with the flunky gone they won't have to worry about THAT. With that said, though, I do worry about what Kunikazu will do now that his stick is gone. I don't know if Sugimura will have the engagement annulled or if he will try to press on in order to make up for everything he did. I sincerely hope its the former, but with him being in a Near-Palace state when they caught him, I have to wonder.

As for Palace formations, I have less of an idea than you. All I know is from what Morgana said: that someone with heavily distorted desires will form a palace. And with how messed up the guy was, I could definitely see him getting his own palace eventually.

Great job! We never really see what goes on when a Mementos chamber becomes a Palace, so that was interesting. I actually think this confrontation with Sugimura is better than in canon.

I do want to mention one thing. If you plan to have Okumura’s heart change succeed, rather than fail, as it does in canon, you need a good way of shifting into the next scenario. Without being framed for the death of Okumura, what reason do the Phantom Thieves have for going after the next Palace ruler (Sae)?

Also, regarding Namine’s romantic future... I must admit to some surprise that you considered Akechi. He’s not at all what he appears to be, and would NOT go well with Namine unless you do some massive alteration of canon like giving him a Palace. Yusuke, on the other hand, fits nicely given the common interest in the arts he has with Namine.

When you vary from the canon script your scenes are interesting, but when you don’t it’s straight game script. Those feel dull without the break of new interpretations or details for your own take on it, and there’s a lot of room for that. I think you should decide if you want more character or setting focus, because some more description can help your scenes come alive. Without description and actions, scenes can become white voids with recited lines.

Another great chapter! And I am glad that they all made up. I also look forward to seeing them take down Sugimura. Always wondered why they didn't start with him in the game since he's so distorted himself, but what do I know.

I also find it cute that Anne and Ryuji are thinking about a relationship together, even if they never talked about it out loud. That she didn't have more people talking about her while out and about with the canon MC kinda baffles me as well, considering how high-profile she is. But eh, they probably just didn't want to put in the extra work.

As an aside, I really want to know Futaba's embarrassing story.

One thing I noticed about this fanfic is that you seem to like tantalizing your readers with different shipping possibilities- in this case, Ryuji and Ann. Have you come to any firm conclusions on who you are pairing with who?

Funny thing is that in Persona 5 Royal, there really are events where you can take Caroline and Justine to visit various places (such as Big Bang Burger or the movie theater). You predicted that well.

You know, after seeing one of 'Person 5: Twilight's new boss battle' I'm a little curious.

Will there be a new palace in Persona 5: Twilight?

Namine/Joker admits that she's weak. Hearing that got me thinking. Is she strong enough to face Crow all by herself or even Shido.

"With enough hard work and training, even 'garbage' can surpass an elite." That what I heard in Dragon Ball Z. (If you happen to know the show or play the game.)

Another scene of Namine's strong bond with the Phantom Thieves. Another reason why Phantom Thieves should be known as Fool Arcana.

I mean, come on, the bond that Protagonist had with Igor never even happened till the Protagonist found out that was a fake this whole time. I got some ideas I like to donate to you if that okay.

I've been thinking about something, if the Confidence list says that the Phantom Thieves is the Fool Arcana, what picture would they should. Definitely not the Phantom Thieves Logo. All I can think of is the Protagonist's real form behind Joker, the Protagonist's Metaverse Form.
