*reads warning* Major character death – Oh, it’s one of ‘those’ fics, I better buckle up.
I read the verses from "Love and Death" and feel sad already…Momo, your creative choice is as heart wrenching as it is poetic and beautiful!
Right off the bat, I feel depressed and cornered without a way out because: what wouldn't I give for Shinichi to be the dead one in this type of story, but then again, it'd be Shiho the one who would have to deal with that loss and I would handle that even less!

Fair warning, from here on out, the words “Today we're burying Miyano Shiho.” will never not be a punch in the gut for me.
Bringing the kids and Hakase (especially him) up, as inevitable as that is, is so saddening it borders cruel :( Really I could rant about how sad the whole of this is, but I want to focus on the more pleasing aspect of this…if there’s any, and that’s how all of this is from Shinichi’s inner pov. It’s simply perfect and I appreciate so much the attention to detail you express through him…about the place, the people attending, and the way he thinks of Shiho when she’s no longer there :/ How he expresses, or is unable to, what is life like without her there with him.
It is, yes, depressing, but there’s something there…the way you write and what you write, that’s like a feather light solace, barely palpable but it is there and it helps to endure having to read about my least favorite topic ever for this series.
I can’t feel as bad for Shiho, though, as I do for Shinichi because I am a firm believer that the living has it worse than the dead, for the former are the ones that have to, redundantly, live on and that’s one of the hardest tasks ever.

All of “IV – Quattuor” will hunt me forever, just letting you know.

I thought after I was done reading this, I’d be left broken…but I’m instead shattered...holding myself barely together (guess, there's a bit of strength I didn't know I had in me) because the mere idea of Shiho gone doesn’t go well with me. Regardless, it’s not by miracle that I see clearly why you hold ‘Vacancy’ as one of your best works, it is truly a work of art, and your way with words in this story is, in my humble opinion, majestic!
The paragraph that starts “Normal life resumed without you…” almost brought me to tears, no kidding.

I felt that phrase on a personal level, this story touched something fragile in me, Momo…and I can’t decide whether I liked that or not. So much emotion poured into this fic. BRA. VO!

I shall consider myself lucky if I don’t encounter any more stories where Shiho is dead after this :) Then again, I’ve shaken hands with Misfortune before…and I’m too anxious to hold my breath…

When I read the tittle ‘Only Fools’ I sort of felt spoken to XD Anyhow, this story made me smile and laugh! Just the image of them crammed inside a small princess castle cracked me up, and playing house?! It’s hilarious, the things they would do for Ayumi, my god. At least, I assume it was Ayumi’s idea…the playing house part, not the making out XD
I can’t express enough what a joy it is for me that Shinichi is the one that gets carried away first in this type of situations, and who would blame him?!
The inclusion of Ayumi in this is simply cute and funny, and the way the ‘grown ups’ apologize to her for ‘arguing’, the little girl is ever so innocent and that’s so sweet but when she asks them to behave I can’t help the laughter xD If only she knew!
I greatly enjoyed this plotline, specially the banter at the end, Shiho’s personality shines through when she teases Shinichi to a proper and ‘heated’ round two and him taking her up on the challenge deserves a clap lol

I can’t tell you enough how much I love those words. Btw, I’m also in love with the way it sounds whenever she calls him Kudo-kun :D

I’m going to start backwards here, by countering what you wrote at the end. First and foremost, I respect that you think you don’t write smut well, but I have to politely disagree…fine, so ‘Zero’ is the only smut I have read from you so far, and I enjoyed it greatly, period. What makes ‘good’ smut anyways? You write two characters, keeping them IN character, while being intimate with each other. It can be an awkward disaster; it can be smooth and romantic, or simply rough and passionate. I really don’t care which, you get the characters and the way you decide the event transpires between them is well resolved in my humble opinion.

That said, let’s talk about ‘Drowning’ (btw, what a good tittle for this!) I can’t not enjoy that whenever they’re together in an intimate way Shiho continuously thinks the situation is too good to be true – that it can only end badly – and I love that every time (at least in my shinshi-fics reader experience) Shinichi reassures her that she is his choice and he doesn’t regret making it, alcohol be damned lol
The fact that she’s afraid to bring Ran up is understandable and I wished she would know that Shinichi doesn’t think about Ran for even a second…all he’s focused on is Shiho and nothing else matters.
The physical contact between these two is so well described, again, is a delight to read…Shinichi holds her like he can’t stand the idea of losing her (that’s my impression, at least) and Shiho is always preoccupied thinking it’ll be the last time but she just can’t let go.

His phrase, "I'm drunk on you." is so fitting and inspired…ha ha, he doesn’t even think of blaming his behavior on the alcohol for a second, and I love that. I kind of even envy him XD
Even in this kind of situation, you make them feel true to themselves and again, your usage of words is a pleasure to read! Very nice work!

I mean this is the BEST way, I died reading Lovely Complex! Wow, I didn’t see it coming. The White Day angle of it, I mean. That chocolate box took me by surprise. This story was so sweet and heartwarming, even with Haibara’s cold disposition and all lol
Damn, she sure makes guy frustrated with her attitude sometimes, but you gotta love her for itu At least, I do.
And him actually making the chocolate for her? Wow, good on him! Also I really like the way he blatantly voices that he wants them to spend more time together between classes and all. This story is the kind of shinshi content that keeps me alive and inspired, it really brought a smile to my face :D

The dialogue and actions from both of them is spot on, a true highlight of your work as always!
I’m amazed by the way Shiho’s replies affect me as well as Shinichi…just regarding him giving her the heart-shaped box and her telling him ‘it’s inappropriate’ had me frightened for a split second that she would reject him :O guess, I am that immersed in your way of storytelling lol

Hey! About time I went back to read your work, been real busy these couple of weeksu Ok, this story has 5 chaps. Let’s get started then shall we?

Certainty – What can I say I haven’t yet, this is peak ShinShi interaction right there and I LOVE it to no end. I was about to hit my face on my desk while realizing he just called her that late to fetch him dinner?! What the-?
Their back and forth is a delight to read and Shiho’s line about the ‘matching eye bags’ made me laugh! If this is their dynamic 24/7 Shinichi may as well give Shiho her own room in his house, don’t you think? lol

And I so enjoyed her calling him on his bs, but then he reveals that the reason he calls her to come over at late hours is because he wants to make sure she hasn’t disappeared and I was dumbfounded (that took a 180 fast!) but I loved it!
Shinichi’s reasoning and telling her she’s to blame for his paranoia because of her runaway tendencies is so him and I have to say, quite endearing. I mean, I like the way Shiho reacts to him caring so much about her. Then you want to strangle the guy again when Shiho assures him that she’s got her own life and he dares put that in doubt…I said to myself: Dude! You want to get yourself murdered?!

Although, I like very much that both of them acknowledge the fact that Shiho tends to be, like you put it here, ‘weak’ when it comes to him…I would use that knowledge to my advantage too if I were him, cause I wouldn’t want Shiho to disappear without warning either.
This is nothing new, but I love the way you write Shiho when countering Shinichi’s arguments.
"My beauty sleep is the current emergency." And "Enjoy the couch, Kudo—" Had me grinning from ear to ear…I swear it’s as if Gosho himself wrote it so.

Then she doesn’t even return home at the end, instead she goes to occupy HIS room! What is Shinichi waiting for to marry Shiho at this point, really? XD

I love this. It made me realize how much everyone in the show might change if B.O. or someone else or something else kills Haibara. This promptmini fic, or whatever you want to call it, bc I'm not sure myself, is amazingly written, a major tear jerker, and leaves a good impression. now if only this can actually happen in the show, hehe.

And excuse me but what do you mean with "sugae coating"? To be honest no of your stories has "sugar". Much of them are about how Shinichi and Shiho has another fight.

I like how the section titles are in Latin. It's a neat little thing.

You're really good at conveying the sense of displacement Shinichi feels at Ai's death, the feeling that his place in her life was always a precarious thing, on the verge of teetering out of existence. Because Shinichi and Shiho were friends, but they were also more than that, partners in crimes, companions, and building their way to more. But in the face of Shiho's death, that is all really very small, and not enough for the world to grant him permission to mourn her the way he wishes.

Quite the lovely set of drabbles! Great ones like yours are very hard to come by, and I’m sure you’ll be sorely missed if you decide to write for other fandoms. That being said it’s ultimately up to you, and if you decide to take leave, I just want to say thank you for writing these cute series!
